Bio

Krista Francis released her first CD on April 7, 2006 entitled, "Mile 394". The title song is the story of where God met Krista on a junky stretch of Interstate 80 in Wyoming, reminding her that she never goes it alone in this journey. This CD is a compilation of 12 original songs spanning ten years of songwriting.
Born in California, her family moved to Arvada, Colorado when she was 7. Lots of formative stuff happened between 7 and 18, but let's skip to the chase. She went to College for 5 years in a fun and funky little town known as Chadron, Nebraska where she majored in Music Education. Along the way, she picked up the guitar and led worship for Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and also started writing songs of her own. Besides creating her own alter ego, "Sherry Stringer" for the amusement of her closest friends, she did receive her degree and moved a whopping 50 minutes south on highway 385 to teach music to young little fledglings at St. Agnes Academy. Along with teaching, she spent two years working as the youth minister for middle and high school students at Holy Rosary Church. During this time, she had the opportunity to record one of her songs on a compilation CD with a KSLT in Rapid City, South Dakota. As hers was only one of 11 songs chosen for the CD, this opened the door to play at the Hills Alive Music Festival the following Summer. She also played at Lifelight Festival in Sioux Falls Summer 2006. Living and working in Alliance was an amazing experience that she would never trade, but after 4 years, Krista heard that same knock on her door as she had heard many times before (rumor has it that it was God.) This time, she answered. Opening the door to the next chapter of life meant that she finished out the 2006 school year with some very groovy students, had a blast playing in a little band (affectionately known as "Krista and the Rocketpants") with her friends Adam, Mark and Mical for a few shows including the rockin' CD release party in Alliance, and then packed up her gear in September 2006 and moved back to Denver. She now works as the Director of Charitable Giving for the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation and continues to lead worship, play gigs and work on her music and most importantly, keep listening for that sometimes silent, but familiar voice..."Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "this is the way, walk in it"... (Isaiah 30:21).
