"Fame Games Review"

Krista's songwriting, melodies and vocals will tug at your heart strings and have you thinking "Where have you been all my life Krista!" One word to describe her music- "Stunning!" - ABC/Citadel Media's Fame Games

"Northwest Noise Interview"

"...an evocative grace, affecting presence, and raw acoustic sound reminiscent of the late Eva Cassidy, vocals to match both the pitch and dulcet resonance of Jewel, and a captivating elegance, and magnetism all her own..."

"As renowned poet, and author Kahlil Gibran once stated, “A great singer is he who sings our silences. Once having a listen for yourself, I’m confident you will agree that this gifted young woman will be doing just that for years to come. - Adrienne Oxton for Northwest Noise

"Maverick Magazine, UK"

"...such depth that i haven't heard for quite some time... think Patty Griffin's song writing with the voice of Sarah Mclachlan and you are half way there."
- Robert Mills for Maverick Magazine

"Review of album by PDX Reviews"

...This CD has many strengths, including the artist's song writing ability. And, the soulful richness of Krista Herrings voice allows her to make an emotional connection with the listener. This emotional connection remains throughout the entire CD.

Krista Herring takes the listener on a journey that encompasses many thoughts, feelings, and emotions. The tonal and harmonic qualities of Krista Herring's voice not only serve as a means to invite the listener along for the journey, but, also serve as a tool to draw the listener into the journey itself. The listener goes beyond the role of being merely an observer, and becomes a participant. This participation culminates in bringing the listener's experience "full circle."

Final Thoughts:

As a final note to reviewing this CD, I find it necessary to answer the two questions phrased by the music industry:

Question: "Who does she sound like?"
Answer: Krista Herring sounds like... well... she sounds like Krista Herring.

Question: "What type of music does she play?"
Answer: Well... she play her type of music.

Krista Herring appears to be one of those independent artists that has come into her own. This fact alone makes it impossible to place Krista Herring into a tightly defined category or niche. It is possible the Krista Herring exists in a category all of her own.

It was a tremendous honor and pleasure to listen to this CD and write this review. - Phil Adams, PDX Reviews

Discography

Album-Lay It Down (2009)

ABOUT THE ALBUM:
"Lay It Down" is an album created against the odds. Despite severe injury to one of her fingers on her guitar chord hand in the middle of album production, Krista managed to retrain herself to play without the finger in order to finish the album. Drawing from her personal (and very human) experiences, Krista has created an album that speaks to the heart of the listener, and turns human frailty and clumsiness into beautiful art. It is a completely independent, home-grown album set to impress even the most discerning of listeners.

Several songs on the album have received international radio airplay through ABC/Citadel Media's Fame Games in syndication with:
Envision Radio Networks and
Dial Global Radio Networks.
