Kristen Berkel

Kristen Berkel has been touring off and on for a number of years as a sidekick musician.  She's been known to play a number of instruments including but not limited to the banjo, accordion, guitar, piano, bass, autoharp, fiddle, trumpet, and suitcase percussion; above all, she takes her trusty harmonizations wherever she goes.  She's got a handful of her own tunes (available for streaming and purchase here) but particularly enjoys the low light found in the sidemanning business.

Her musical home is in the genre of old country but she get a real thrill from jumping into other styles and working alongside other musicians.  Her versatility is her strength; these skills are what have allowed her to tour with and back up many different musicians; her perspective is continually widened by those other talents and experiences. 

This spring (under the production prowess of Aaron Goldstein), she will begin sculpting a record reminiscent of an "old timey dream peppered with a retro, edgy honesty".  She also tunes pianos, plays roller derby, drives the zamboni and works at the Bruno Arts Bank.
