Bio
Kristen Bennett is a singer/songwriter from a suburb of Dayton, Ohio, currently residing in Anderson, Indiana at Anderson University. In high school she discovered that aside from a passion for sushi and tea, she had a deep love for the music ministry. Starting out as a youth worship leader in her church, Kristen began to develop as a performer and a songwriter through concerts, festivals, and coffee shop gigs. An interest in the music industry began to blossom as she became involved in several recording projects with local bands, and became an opening act for other musicians.
Bennett̢۪s taste for jazz began when her guitar teacher brought her in local jazz festivals and events. She soon became familiar with real books and the classic smooth jazz environment. Bennett prizes her diverse sense of music performance, from blues to classical genres.
In 2011 she performed the national anthem for a record crowd of 5,000 at the Walk for Autism in Dayton. In college she became involved in several campus acts such as A Major Award and James Geary. A Major Award released their CD, Homes, Roads and Houses, last November. Geary has been focusing on spreading his music ministry to national youth conferences as well as festivals. The press has caught on to both bands and left favorable reviews.
In the future Bennett hopes to spread her faith through the music she writes and performs. She seeks the happiness and joy she sees in others to inspire an honest form of music, something that ordinary people can relate to.
