Kristina Kidd

Raised on a small farm in Oak Ridge, NC, Kristina Kidd developed her passion for country music at a young age when she first started listening to the radio in the car with her Daddy. At 7 years old, after performing for the first time at a karaoke night, she knew that there was nothing else she would rather be than a country music recording artist. Throughout middle and high school she participated in two musicals and multiple school talent shows, but it wasn�t until her freshman year of college at NC State that she found her �voice� in writing her own songs. She wrote her first song in November of 2007, and over Christmas break of the same year, she started teaching herself how to play the guitar, and has since been writing and performing her original music around North Carolina. Kristina will attend Nashville's Belmont University to study music business and songwriting beginning in the fall of 2009. Growing up on around chickens, cows, and even llamas, Kristina has always known what it means to be country, but she has continued to develop a style all her own, blending her roots with heartfelt lyrics and music. Her musical influences vary from classics like Reba McEntire, Alison Krauss, and Randy Travis to today�s country artists like Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, and Lady Antebellum and even a few classic rock artists such as The Eagles and Heart. Kristina has been described as a "little pixie," barely topping 5'2" with a sweet smile and contagious laugh, and her presence on a stage can light up a room. This determined young singer/songwriter has been quoted saying: �there�s a Little Jimmy Dickens song with the lines, �I�m little, but I�m loud,� and I laugh �cause that�s true!�
