Bio

Kristin R. Lewis, a native of Waco Texas, grew up in church with father being a Pastor and Mother singing in the choir, so getting to know Jesus happened at an early age. Kristin left Waco to leave for College in 1996 to Stephan F. Austin University (SFA)at Nacogdoches, Texas, not knowing the Journey ahead. Kristin had taken the first step into the plans that God ordered for her life before birth. While at Nacogdoches, Kristin had the honor of being a member of the Live Oak Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Keith Warner. During her time with this ministry she ministered with the adult choir, Soul II Soul Gospel on the campus of SFA and the Nacogdoches Interdenominational Youth Chorale under the leadership of Mr. Roy Benton. The mentioned ministries were the reason for the solid musical foundation in Kristin’s life. Building the Kingdom of God is the main focus and purpose of her ministry. Later in 2005, Kristin moved to Houston Texas and became a part of the Windsor Village United Methodist Family under the leadership of Pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell. She served on the Praise Team, 1AC, and Gospel Company. She had the privilege to work with Kathy Taylor as her minister of music and Lamar Campbell. Being apart of this family taught Kristin how to be a great leader by knowing how to follow. She learned that singing was just not a sweet melody that is to be heard but God has created her to be a weapon of Praise. She has ministered and taught in Praise and Worship Conferences, conducted clinics on voice training, established Joshua Journey Ministries (a spirit-filled group of young minister comprised of members of diverse musical backgrounds, personalities and church affiliations, ushering God’s presence through song) and worked as a backup singer for a wide variety of artists including, Lamar Campbell, Patti La Belle, Kathy Taylor, Vanessa Bell-Armstrong, Donald Lawrence, Lyle Lovett and Hanq Neal.

In November 2011, Kristin partnered in singing with two beautiful women of God, Chareece Wyatt and Pamela Knight and formed Beloved. BELOVED is an adjective meaning dearly loved and dear to the heart (of God). Yes, we are adored, esteemed, prized, treasured, preferred, darling, cherished, dear, favored, precious, special and sweet to our Lord. But yes, we have all faced our struggles and obstacles. It is written in Isaiah 53:6a -- All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way. Oh, but God!!! God is faithful. God is ever-loving. GOD IS…!!!BELOVED has been called to: Bring hope to the hopeless, Encourage the broken-hearted, Love the unloved, Open our hearts, Vocalize victorious living through Jesus Christ, Effect our world with the love of God; and Dedicate our lives to God.

Kristin is currently partnering for the No Greater Love concert. The No Greater Love experience is an evening of powerful praise and worship that communicates through music, the universal language, that LOVE knows no color, no border, no country, no political view, no religion, no respect of person, no hypocrisy, no limitations and no fear! The driving message and foundational scripture of the No Greater Love experience is celebrating the greatest display of love shown to us through Christ, and demonstrating that love to others. 1 John 3:18 - "Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth." With her friend, sister, and partner in ministry, Karen Zellars-Sevier, the enthusiastic willingness of many talented singers, artists, the radical hospitality of congregations and communities, as well as the benevolence of concert attendees, the No Greater Love concert has provided monetary and tangible donations to many locally known charities.

Kristin is also currently the Worship Leader for Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, Dr. A. B. Lewis Sr, Pastor and the Choir Director for Divine Temple of God United Methodist Church, Lisa Ray, Pastor. Through it all she has remained consistent with God’s will and plan for her life.

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” I Corinthians 2:9. God’s will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
