Biography

Kristy Sims has been singing ever since she could walk. Born in Denver, Colorado on August 23rd 1989, then at age 4 relocating to Seattle, Washington, young Kristy didn't realize that she actually wanted to be a singer until much later in life. "My mom always told me that I should be singing, but I never felt like I could do it. I didn't think that I could walk up on a stage and be able to hold an audience long enough for them to be truly entertained," she says. For years whenever anyone told Kristy she should sing she just brushed it off. But for someone who said she didn't want to sing she sure did a lot of it. "I could hear her bouncing around in her room singing her heart out to her favorite music. She had an uncanny way of being able to imitate the artists that she loved," recalls her mother Linda. "From Britney Spears to any one of the Spice Girls, even singers like Mariah Carey, she could hit the notes just like them and she was only 11 or 12." Kristy's talent really started to shine in the 6th grade when she joined a school choir and got a solo. "It was my first time singing in front of many people and I was really nervous. I had done a play in elementary school but this was very different. All eyes were on me, but everything changed when the first note left my mouth and the audience started to smile and bob their heads. I honestly couldn't believe what I was doing, but I knew I loved it right away; the music sparked something inside of me." Although you could say the young future singer had finally found her, calling she still resisted. Her family moved from Seattle, Washington after her 6th grade year and re-established themselves in Frisco, Texas. Frisco, thirty minutes North of Dallas, was just starting to bloom as one of the fastest growing cities in the US. Kristy started 7th grade on a bad note. "I was really shy and felt like no one liked me, but I was just feeling what every kid does after moving to a new place. I was too scared to join the choir and expose my hidden talent, so I just stopped singing in front of people." Privately Kristy would jam out in her room for hours everyday singing her favorite songs. She was discovering new music at a fast pace. "My real education in music started around 8th or 9th grade when I started listening to artists like Elton John, The Police, U2, and Michael Jackson." The latter having the most profound effect on the young singer. "Their music has transcended time and to me that's what it takes to be a great musician or singer." Throughout high school Kristy maintained a relatively low profile. Being a shy person, Kristy had a core group of friends from which she never strayed. "I never partied, or became a member of the upper echelon, in high school. I had a hand full of friends that I hung out with all the time, but for some reason I couldn't relate to that many people outside of my close friends." As time went on and graduation drew nearer, so did the task of choosing what Kristy wanted to do with the rest of her life. As she watched her friends go off and pursue college with dreams of being doctors and international business execs she found herself in an odd place. "I've always been the kind of person with direction. I always felt like I knew where I was heading but when I got to that point I realized I didn't want it." Kristy quickly realized school wasn't for her. It seemed no matter what she was studying, her head was always up in the clouds and never in the classroom. "She would walk around and tap on things and make so much noise, it was like she was listening to some beat within her head 24/7; you just couldn't get her to stop" said her dad. While still going to school she decided to enroll in some vocal classes. "I don't know why I started the classes at the time, but I guess I just needed an outlet where I could sing, other than just alone in my house. That part of me was starting to come alive." At the sessions, Kristy would vocalize and train her voice to become stronger - singing different tunes from current contemporary artists. This training also led to some opportunities to perform live in front of people. "It was like all of those years of being scared had finally melted away because I was doing what was instinctually right for me." Just as she felt that she was going down the right path, she had to stop taking the lessons because they became too expensive. "I remember being calm and collected on the outside when my parents told me I had to stop, but when I got alone I cried for hours. I took it hard." It would be another year until Kristy got back into the groove of things - with music so to speak. She continued going to school and living her life, but satisfaction never came for her. "I was living my life in a haze. I felt like I was in a rut, and I was only 19! I was angry and sad all the time and I didn't know what to do about it. I was breathing, but I wasn't really living. I was confused to say the least." Things were like this for

Without You

Written By: Kristy Sims

What do I do now
After all of the heartache
I finally found a way out
With this weight of my chest
I can breathe a little deeper
Reach a little further now
There's something that's trying to break free
To release itself from inside of me
I'm ready to finally believe
This ain't as bad as it seems

And I'll find my way it's not too hard
And I'll get my, my love without you
I am stronger now there ain't no doubt
That I'll get my, my love without you
Was it the plans that we had made
Was it just too much for you to take
Was it the words you could not say
I'm just too good for you anyway

After the mess that you made
There was nothing but crying
I felt like I was dying inside
Putting all of the blame
On myself and not knowing
I was the one who had tried
To get you just to see
That we were meant to be
The world don't evolve around you now
Stop pretending like it does

And I'll find my way it's not too hard
And I'll get my, my love without you
I am stronger now there ain't no doubt
That I'll get my, my love without you
Was it the plans that we had made
Was it just too much for you to take
Was it the words you could not say
I'm just too good for you anyway

Oh, It's time gotta let it out
Gonna raise my voice
Gonna scream and shout
Don't care cuz I'm done with you
Think you're bad
Boy you're just a fool
I dare you to come running back
If you think that's cool
Boy your smokin' crack
I think that you're going mad
Cuz you messed this up really bad

I think it's my time for me
Just to say good-bye

And I'll find my way it's not too hard
And I'll get my, my love without you
I am stronger now there ain't no doubt
That I'll get my, my love without you
Was it the plans that we had made
Was it just too much for you to take
Was it the words you could not say
I'm just too good for you anyway
I'm just too good
For you anyway

Let it Out

Written By: Kristy Sims

Let It Out

Everybody
Wanna feel me
Just to hear me
Say it again
Takin' over
Tap my shoulder
Move it forward
Quit playin'
Screamin' louder
Feel the power
It's like nothin
I've ever felt
Pushin' forward
Takin' over
Take a seat and
And kill it

Ain't nothing like moving on the floor
Feel the beat thumping through the door
Scattered faces looking all around yeah
Facing each other wondering what's going down

I wanna move it to the groove like
Everybody dance right
Pump it up and down yeah
Shake it all around then
Grinding and groovin
oooh oooh oooh yeah
You know it's going down tonight
C'mon won't you let it out
Right now
All around
Right now
La la let it it out
Right now
All around
Right now
La la let it it out

Lights are flashing
Dirty dancing
Shoes are tapping
Just do it
Body language
It's a changing
With every rhythm
Of this beat
People staring
I'm not caring
While I'm tearing
Up the stage
I just wonder
What's taking over
All the people
I'm saying

Ain't nothing like moving on the floor
Feel the beat thumping through the door
Scattered faces looking all around yeah
Facing each other wondering what's going down

I wanna move it to the groove like
Everybody dance right
Pump it up and down yeah
Shake it all around then
Grinding and groovin
oooh oooh oooh yeah
You know it's going down tonight
C'mon won't you let it out
Right now
All around
Right now
La la let it it out
Right now
All around
Right now
La la let it out

Lift me up high
Give me a try
Move me around
Stop looking down
Just touch my waist
Give me a taste
This ain't a race
You wanna hear me say
Right now
All around
Right now
La la let it out
Right now
All around
C'mon won't you let it out

I wanna move it to the groove like
Everybody dance right
Pump it up and down yeah
Shake it all around then
Grinding and groovin
oooh oooh oooh yeah
You know it's going down tonight
C'mon won't you let it out
Right now
All around
Right now
La la let it out
Right now
All around
Right now
La la let it it out

Everybody (On the Floor)

Written By: Kristy Sims

Everybody (On The Floor)

I think it's time to move it all around
Turn up the bass and blast the speakers loud
Put on the lipstick and those red high heels
Flash those lashes boy one look could kill

When we move to the groove
The boys like it yeah they do
Wave our hands in the air
Like we really just don't care
Pump our hips to the beat
Hot vibrations down our feet
No the dancing just don't stop
Yeah we really make it hot

Everybody get down on the floor
C'mon and party till your legs get sore
Everybody move it to the beat
Until the lights are flashing on the street
Hey Hey Hey Hey

There's people dancing to my left and right
Drinks are splashing won't stop till daylight
I start to wonder will tomorrow come
Cuz by the looks this party will never be done

When we move to the groove
The boys like it yeah they do
Wave our hands in the air
Like we really just don't care
Pump our hips to the beat
Hot vibrations down our feet
No the dancing just don't stop
Yeah we really make it hot

Everybody get down on the floor
C'mon and party till your legs get sore
Everybody move it to the beat
Until the lights are flashing on the street
Hey Hey Hey Hey

Everybody get down on the floor
C'mon and party till your legs get sore
Put on the lipstick and those red high heels
Flash those lashes boy one look could kill

Everybody get down on the floor
C'mon and party till your legs get sore
Everybody move it to the beat
Until the lights are flashing on the street
Hey Hey Hey Hey

I'm Just Crazy

Written By: Kristy Sims

I'm Just Crazy

When I see this boy
I can't get enough
Got the perfect tan
Has the right stuff
Makes me go insane
I can't think my brain
Is all jumbled up
Now it's time that I
Leave it all behind
This guy just ain't my kind
He always wines and dines
All the other girls but I
Love him in every way
What else can I say
Everything is going grey

Cuz I'm just crazy for the things that you do
You got me baby boy I'm too stuck on you
It's not a good thing when you treat me real bad
It's not a good thing boy you make me so sad
But I'm just crazy with the flip of your hair
You got me baby twist and turnin in bed
It's not a good thing when I can't get no sleep
It's not a good thing being in this so deep ah whoa

Everyone can see
What you do to me
You make my knees go weak
Everytime you speak
But I just listen then
Always wondering
All those moments spent
Will you ever think of me
As more than just a friend
No longer can pretend
I'm always bendin' over backwards for you
To try and notice me
Think it's my time to leave
Boy I just can believe

Cuz I'm just crazy for the things that you do
You got me baby boy I'm too stuck on you
It's not a good thing when you treat me real bad
It's not a good thing boy you make me so sad
But I'm just crazy with the flip of your hair
You got me baby twist and turnin in bed
It's not a good thing when I can't get no sleep
It's not a good thing being in this so deep ah whoa

But there are the times
When I feel like you and I
Would just be so good
You know it's true baby
Can't you understand
That I need a man
To make me feel so good
whoa whoa whoa

When I see this boy
I can't get enough
Got the perfect tan
Has the right stuff
Makes me go insane
I can't think my brain
Is all jumbled up

Cuz I'm just crazy for the things that you do
You got me baby boy I'm too stuck on you
It's not a good thing when you treat me real bad
It's not a good thing boy you make me so sad
But I'm just crazy with the flip of your hair
You got me baby twist and turnin in bed
It's not a good thing when I can't get no sleep
It's not a good thing being in this so deep ah whoa
