K. Ross the exceptional hip hop artist, who created most dallas rappers now, comes as he is. Kay Ross AKA "K. Ross", 20, was born and raised in Dallas, Texas in a neighborhood called Oak Cliff. As a child, the aspiring hip hop artist listened to and idolized early Cash Money recording artists like Juvenile , Lil Wayne and the whole Cash Money Records, who he quotes as some of his early influences. He performs at about two shows a week in the area of Dallas, Tx and has sold over 1,000 cd's independently.
As a kid music was a dream to him. Writing down lyrics of rappers such as the Hot Boys, Master P, and 2 Pac. He started rapping at age 13 with his cousins never thinking he will become big. At age 16, He sold his first recording. He was a 05 graduate from D.W. Carter High School in Dallas, Tx. After high school and after the death of his two cousins, His Fame grew. This is because he created a website page on myspace, 11-14-05 called Player Made Records. But he then thought of starting his own web page and gave PMR to his cousin and it's now called Y.G. Ent. Once he started his web page his fan base grew quickly from just Dallas to city-to-city, state-to-state and evenoverseas. He attended Cedar Valley College in Lancaster, Tx for One Year. He has worked with artists such as Kristopher Mikals and Sirrah Money Harris. He is currently working on his first album Hood Known, which talks about his life and how he got known.
As a new upcoming hip hop star, K. Ross's experience in the rap game, coupled with his amazing growth as an individual has placed him in a position only a handful of people in this industry reach. K. Ross" is a top-notch hip hop artist whose lyrics and artistic vision tower over the competition. A few years later, K. Ross met R.L. Productions Ent. Management Firm CEO Rochelle Brooks who would take him under her wings and help mold him into a prolific and profound artist. The records independent success garnered the young teenager legions of fans throughout the South and Midwest.
K. Ross, a perfectionist in the lab, has never been one to waste time. "I could do an entire album in a week," he says. But his first World Wide Album is taking him a little longer. I wanted to make sure everything was right and perfect for my fans." Approaching His Album with the skills of a scientist, K. Ross dug through the vaults of his own material in order to analyze his distinct style. "Listening to the past few albums, I wanted to change it up slightly. What fans will be hearing on my album is a revised and refreshed K. Ross, from the scorching first single "Tealeo," produced by himself, where K. Ross drops blazing lyrics, where he comes at you hard, switching up both vocal tone and flow.
K. Ross is no longer the young cocky boy from the South content with just spitting boastful rhymes. Aside from fans, fellow artists have also recognized his maturation as a well rounded musician. K. Rosss flow and choice of subject matter have also become more versatile. They Talk About Us is one song that stands out to him, Because its about the Jena Six Movement, and Ive never done a movement song before. K. Ross is different from most rappers as music wise. He calls himself a hip hop artist rather than a rapper or rap artist. He says he is more about the music than the money.
