Ksimmz

My name is Wayne Simmons but I go by "Ksimmz". I am a young 23 year old singer/songwriter/composer. I play the piano, bass and drums! I was inspired by many to have a career in music. My father is my biggest inspiration. He played the Organ for Sissy Houston and her choir in Newark, NJ in the 90's. He inspired me to play the piano bass and drums and continues to inspire me with his wisdom. My biggest influence in writing is Adam Levine from the band "Maroon 5", Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Ashford&Simpson, Lionel Richie, PJ Morton..just to name a few. As far as singers, I am a huge fan of PJ Morton, Stevie Wonder, Musiq Soulchild, Marvin Gaye, David Ruffin, Michael Jackson, just to name a few. What makes me different from other soloist is my vocal approach to lyrics and my musical approach. I write/compose and perform my music. I have a unique sound that has gospel concepts in it but I mix it with all genres. It is very musical and it stays with you! I love singing about LOVE! Even though i had my fair share of heartbreaks I still have faith in love. I've been doing music all my life as well as sing all my life however I started to pursue singing professionally a little over a year ago. In February of 2011 I took my niece and nephew to see Justin Bieber's "Never Say Never" Documentary. At the time i was not a fan of his music or him. I watched the film and left the theaters almost in tears because i knew in my heart i was musically talented and that singing was a passion of mine but the fear in my mind has held me back for years. After watching the Bieber movie i was totally inspired to pursue the singing career i always dreamed about. I always sang to my family;specifically my grandmother. She passed on May 14 of 2011. Her last few days were very special to me because i was able to sing some of her favorite songs and she told me to "Live your life. Don't be afraid of it. The world will understand your message and your passion.". With her passing, and her inspiring words of wisdom, it has driven me to achieve greatness! I am a dry sponge who is young, charismatic, determined, cute, charming, talented, innovative, and very dedicated to music. My biggest assets are my deep dimples which I use for charm. All of my tracks were done on a Powerbook G4 which is one of the older Macs and I used the first garage band. I am not able to afford studio time. What makes that significant is that I work with what i have no matter what! When i put my mind to something i MAKE it happen! I would love to be in a studio and have a Manager that will mentor me and get me to where i know i will be in the music business! All i need is for someone to believe in me. Thats what my music is all about...
