A couple months ago I had the chance to meet an up and coming artist from Chicago who goes by KT Rasta at CMPLX 2010's listening event The Session. After just hearing one of his tracks I was ready to hear more and KT definitely gave fans more with this one. Rasta recently released the video for his anthem "Rich" which was shot by 1HunnitFilmz. In this visual you can find KT moving through the city, kicking it with friends, and performing his track. Also there may or may not be a preview for Rasta's upcoming track "Time" at the end of the video so make sure you watch the whole thing through! When it comes to Chicago music you already know its going to be some upbeat type stuff that makes you want to get a little ratchet — haha, jokes. But really, no doubt that its going to be something consisting of Chief Keef’s style. That’s exactly what KT Rasta’s “Rich” track is. It is bumping and forward. Bio
KT Rasta is from the same rough area as Chicago’s Famous Dex, in Southside, Chicago, IL. KT went to high school with NBA stars Derrick Rose and Jabari Parker, at Simeon Career Academy High. Determined to be great at a young age, Rasta would often skip class to perform in rap battles around the school and soon outside of school, where he began doing open mics. In 2014 KT Rasta did his first concert at a small college in Joliet, IL with half a thousand students rapping each song word for word.
KT has amassed over 300,000 music streams across different web platforms, and his fanbase is growing tremendously each day. He has met the likes of: Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Durk, Christina Milian, and Porscha – from the hit TV show ‘Empire’ to name a few. His videos began receiving blog-love after he dropped his first visual in 2012 to a song titled "We Aint No Fools", featuring other rappers from his neighborhood in Englewood. The song didn't blow up but it was enough to encourage him to keep pushing harder after he saw the amount of fans reaching out to him from places he'd never been.
