Kuhlamity- “From The West To The East” (ft. Chuuwee)

A new track from New York MC Kuhlamity, featuring Chuuwee on the first verse. I’m bloggin’ this track for many of the same reasons I blogged a track from this kid earlier this year: He sounds hungry, he sounds urgent, and his youthful determination is infectious.

"Kuhlamity - From The West To The East f. Chuuwee (prod. by brandUn deShay)"

Kuhlamity (like “calamity”) is a New York-reared artist gearing up to drop his project Center Of A Tension, entirely produced by brandUn DeShay, and for his latest offering he grabs the Northern California representative to ride shotgun. Why is there a picture of Vanessa Veasley, however? Well, I couldn’t find a decent picture of Kuhlamity Why is the sky blue? - 2 Dope Boyz

I’ve posted some Kuhlamity before but I’ll give you guys a little insight once again. Kuhlamity is out of my hometown where talent is hard to come by but he seems like he has the right idea. Indulgence is his first mixtape and while there are times where he could be better the final product that he puts out is solid. He goes over some classic beats and completely makes them his own. If I had to pick some favorites I would check out Fuck A Dream and My Relation. I think that My Relation is probably my favorite out of the bunch though because it exemplifies to me the raw talent that Kuhlamity has. He comes at you with a strong and sometimes violent flow but it isn’t over the top which I have started seeing with most of the new rappers that are coming out trying to jock OddFuture. Instead he is able to turn it into good music which flows right in with some of the people who have been his idols, in Jedi Mind Tricks. Also teaming up with Block McCloud & Doap Nixon doesn’t hurt.

""Fuck Love" Kuhlamity (feat. Block McCloud)"

A hilariously bitter track from New York rapper Kuhlamity. I’m not a fan of the kid’s more punchline-oriented tracks, but this particular track felt too real not to share.

With what I assume is his first mixtape, Indulgence, Kuhlamity seems to be trying a lotta different things in this formative stage. But “Fuck Love” reminds me of a young Slug or Marshal Mathers, which I like a lot. It’s not a feeling I get from the way he raps, but from the story of a kid getting the short end of the stick. He’s angry as hell, and with clenched fists, he’s not gonna take it anymore.

"Kuhlamity: Indulgence Mixtape"

Indulgence is the debut mixtape from Rockland County rapper, Kuhlamity. Last week I shared “My Relation” with you, and it’s just one of the raw yet honest tracks from his debut release. \

Some songs are raw and in your face, others take a slow grind an impress you with his patience. I can’t quite put my finger on it but there’s something refreshing about Kuhlamity that I’m enjoying right now. He raps from an honest perspective, something that I can’t find much of in today’s world of rap/hip-hop.

Indulgence is available to download for free. Grab it right here (right click + save as).

Visit him on facebook or follow him on twitter.

"Kuhlamity ft. brandUn deShay: "Kuhlam & DeShay""

Now this one hits close to home, literally. Kuhlamity is a rapper from my hometown of Rockland, New York and the boy has some skills. While in the past Kam has worked with some of the members of Army Of The Pharaohs and jumping on some industry beats he is now teaming up with, what should be a familiar name to you all, with brandUn DeShay for his album which is set to drop in late October or early November. Center Of A Tension is the name of that album and it will feature all production from brandUn DeShay as well as some other surprises. "Kuhlam & DeShay" is a great starting point for those who aren't familiar with Kuhlamity as he compliments brandUn DeShay perfectly and their pretty much opposite styles somehow come together in harmony. Check out Kuhlamity and DeShay work that magic right below and hit up myself, @KuhLamityCOAT or @brandunXdeshay up on twitter to let us know what you think. - Ruby Hornet

"Kuhlam & DeShay"

“Kuhlam & DeShay” is the latest track from Rockland County’s Kuhlamity. It’s from his upcoming release, Center Of A Tension. It’s got all the same vulgarity and wit, mixed in with some of his catchiest moments yet.

Young rappers should take note. He’s up to something good.

Bio

Kuhlamity is an 18 year old artist who has been about the art of rhyme his whole life. The main reason he started was to try to rap was for his brother. His brother was diagnosed with Autism at age 2. Ever since that diagnosis, Kamron Bahani (Kuhlamity) promised to himself that he'll give his brother nothing but the best. Kuhlamity's from Huntsville, Alabama, and is currently residing in Rockland County, NY. Kuhlamity's inspiration is Jedi Mind Tricks, Nas, and AOTP. He started recording at age 14, and the journey for him has been nothing but a bliss. "Music is great, it's a blessing to do what I do", Kuhlamity truly loves what he does. His dedication payed off when one of hip-hop's underground legends contacted him, Vinnie Paz. Vinnie Paz (of Jedi Mind Tricks, Army of the Pharaohs) heard about Kuhlamity through Block McCloud, a world renown MC and chorusist. Block believes Kuhlamity is already legendary in his own right. "I don't know any 18-year-old rapper with the wit, charisma, and lyricism that Kuhlam possesses. It's beyond me." Kuhlamity still keeps in touch with Block McCloud and Vinnie Paz, but he has now moved on to working with MC's such as Chuuwee, a rapper from California. Chuuwee has been receiving a lot of buzz, and he also loves Kuhlamity's style of rhythmic flow and lyrics. Kuhlamity has an album coming out in mid-November entitled "Center of a Tension", which is on Rogo's "Top 50 most anticipated hip-hop albums of 2011". The album is entirely produced by BrandUn Deshay, an ex-member of OFWGKTA. Brandun Deshay has also produced for Danny Brown, Tanya Morgan, Dom Kennedy, Kendrick Lamar, and Casey Veggies. Kuhlamity is receiving a ton of buzz, all will soon prove him as one of the most privileged and gifted MC's of our time. He has been featured on 2DopeBoyz, We All Want Someone To Shout For, The Needle Drop, Ruby Hornet, and more.
