Bio
Kumi is no ordinary chanteuse. Half Japanese, half Italian, this unforgettable songwriter and musician is fluent in 5 languages, plays multiple instruments, and was brought up in Japan, Germany, Mexico, France & Italy. Now residing in London, she has been stunning audiences in some of the capital's finest venues such as Union Chapel and the Troubadour. Full of what the Italians might call “pieno di vitalità”, her songs form a rich tapestry of catchy melodies through which her multi-faceted, evocative voice can soar.
Her mesmerising live performances are backed by her band - Kester (cello), Chris (guitar & backing vocals), Lyndsey (backing vocals) and drums.
Kumi has recently been played by Tom Robinson on 6Music and by Gary Crowley on BBC LONDON, and she's all set to play shows across the UK this year.
