Kung-Fu Grip

Kung-Fu Grip

Anthony k, singer-songwriter, creates well-written catchy, melodic songs with an array of sounds ranging from loud aggressive rock to soft pop rock. Playing all the instruments on the album, Anthony k was influenced by bands like Pixies, Nirvana and Foo Fighters, but has added his own fresh sound.

Kung Fu Grip is an Alternative Rock band that started out as a recording project. Anthony K (Singer/Guitarist) had been writing and recording demos on a 4-track, in which he played all the instruments himself. Anthony had been playing drums in bands for years. He got his start in a band called Good Grief, with Ricky Wells. They made a name for themselves playing all over NY, doing mostly all ages shows. He then joined the band The Nerve! Their most recent CD was released on Heyday Records, and produced by Bumblefoot (Guitarist of Guns N’ Roses). The Nerve! did a European tour with Bumblefoot in late 2005.

In the summer of 2005, Anthony K decided that he was going to take his demos and record an album. He again played every instrument and sang every note, just like his demos. After the album was recorded Anthony decided to take it on the road and start playing some shows. He recruited long time musical partner, Ricky Wells as lead guitar player. He asked friend Genesis to play bass, he was happy to join Kung-Fu Grip. All Anthony needed now was an amazing drummer, so he looked to David Garcia and thus completed the lineup.

In the summer of 2007, the band played all around the east coast. This included a couple of dates at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson NJ. One of which was a summer concert event with Peter Frampton. Other dates have been shared with up and coming NYC band Hymns.

The album is now available for sale now on iTunes, Napster, and pretty much any music download site! It can be special ordered in stores and is available on the band's official website and myspace page.

Taking The Fall

Written By: Anthony Kapfer

I see you hand in hand
When will you decide to land?
Another thing that I can’t stand
All these things that you have planned
When did it all turn this way?
Fired it before you aimed
Think it’s time for a brand new day
I think you should be ashamed

And I won’t keep taking the fall
Cause it’s you I blame for it all
I just won’t be here anymore
If you don’t want it, I don’t need it

Do you even care about about
All the people you’ve let down?
There’s no one left hanging round
Willing to take your side now
Do you find it hard to breathe?
Cause you have been smothering
All the life that’s inside me
I don’t think it’s all healthy

I’m waiting for the day
When I can go away
And start something new
Something without you

Hello Dear

Written By: Anthony Kapfer

How do you sleep at night?
Cause I’ve been up all night thinking of you
How do you dream at night?
I wonder if you dream about me too

Hello dear I’m so glad you’re here
Hello dear I’ll always be near, not far
When you’re in need I swear

I hope that you sleep tight
While I’m up all night just thinking of you
I hope your dreams are nice
And maybe I’m even in one or two

Hey I feel like growing older with you
And you know it’s just like I told you
Over and over again

Hello dear I’m so glad you’re here
Hello dear you make all things clear
Hello dear don’t you ever fear
Hello dear I’ll always be near, not far
When you’re in need I swear

There's A Ray Of Light

Written By: Anthony Kapfer

On and on and on my friend
The same old melody will start again
La la la is all that’s heard
I hum the tune cause I don’t know the words

Say it all to me
Say these words so can still believe
In all of this I ask you please, yeah
If you’ll here for me
I’ll be there for you and you’ll get to see
That I don’t ever want to leave you

I’ve been searching for forever
Nothing else was ever quite as good
All these things I’ve found in you
I’m telling you so you will know the truth

There’s a ray of light that’s shining down
Now they’ll be no more wearing frowns
Cause there’s a ray of light that’s shining down

There’s a ray of light that’s shining down
