Bio

Background Information: Kuru was originally formed in the fall of 1999 when founding members Pigfish and Hagis began perfecting an original blend of violent and anger driven hardcore/heavy metal. The lineup was recently topped off with the addition of The Saw's lightning fast, bone crunching guitar playing and Erik's ability to intertwine speed and technicality into a new breed of KURU.

After playing small venues for several months, Kuru’s high energy stage show was beginning to get noticed in the Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Kalamazoo areas. Within six months of formation, Kuru was already being granted opening slots for high profile national acts ( Sevendust, Mudvayne, Fear Factory, Hatebreed, and Nonpoint) at primarily A- list venues all over Michigan and neighboring states.

Career highlights:

Opened for:
Sevendust, One Minute Silence, and Factory 81 @ Harpo's in Detroit, MI
Mudvayne, Spineshank, Nonpoint and V-Shaped Mind @ Harpo's

Slaves On Dope @ the Shelter in Detroit, MI
Nonpoint @ the Orbit Room in Grand Rapids, MI
