Bio

They say a man walks a long road before finding his path. Kwame Binea has been paving this path through the art of music following the footsteps of fellow African English soul singers such as Seal and Sade. Born in West London to a single Ghanaian mother then moving to Ghana to live with his grandparents he was surrounded by musically talented and professionals who introduced him to African song and dance. He even became part of the church choir at the age of seven.

With his experience from living in Ghana, London and the United States he was exposed to many different traditions, cultures and genres of music. His appreciation and influence grew from such artist as Otis Reading, Bob Marley, Sam Cooke, Seal and Sade.
Moving to the United States he was able to fulfill his dream of music by attending William Paterson University where the Jazz and Contemporary music programs are recognized as one of the finest in the country.

It was at William Paterson he began pursuing his musical career by teaming up with fellow music students and created a classic rock, blues and soul band, "The Kause" releasing a few albums and paving the way for acceptance into the New York venues. As accomplished artist' the invitations to perform grew rapidly at popular venue's such as Arlene's Grocery, the Knitting Factory, Crash Mansion, Sullivan Hall, Bitter End and the Lion's Den.

Kwame's strength in music has been proven by the many cultures he grew up in reflecting his personal experience by composing original songs following his many paths. He continues to spread the message of peace and love with songs like "On the Outside and World's on Fire" adding a collective fusion of soul, blues, reggae, rock and r&b. His passion and intensity are a symbol of who Kwame Binea is.
