Bio

Kwame Simpson, a.k.a., Kwiz Da Wizzard, a.k.a., KwizMan was born at Mount Sinai Hospital on December 15th, 1989. He grew up in Sugar Hill in Harlem, New York. When he was 3 years old, his mother moved the family to West Philadelphia, Pa. for a few years. He is and always has been dedicated to the educational process.

Kwiz pursues his music and education with unbridled passion. When he wasn’t in school or doing studies, he could be found either listening to music, studying or playing basketball. Music and especially Hip Hop is a part of his culture and daily routine.

Kwiz began to focus on music during his last year in high school. Initially, it merely peaked his interest to see if he had a true talent or real inclination to be a Hip Hop artist. In the process, he discovered that writing Hip Hop was something he really loved to do. He has been writing and performing ever since. In the midst of playing music, he graduated from Graphic Arts High School with honors.

He is currently at City College of New York getting straight A’s. It was during his time in City College that Kwiz figured he would have a better chance starting his own label as opposed to getting signed to a major label. He then founded Break’ Em Up Records in 2008. Kwiz has been affiliated with the Harlem Children’s Zone since high school when he attended the Dunlevy Milbank Recreation Center in Harlem. This association has provided him with a substantial level of support, both educational and financial. Kiwz realized that in order to getr his name out there the best thing for him to do would be to go out and actually meet people in different places. This led him to put together his own promotional tour this year where he traveled to Atlanta, Orlando and Los Angeles

Growing up in poverty Kwiz realized the depths of deprivation that seep throughout ghettos all over the world. This has inspired Kwiz to take up a degree in Sociology as well as Virology. There is no doubt that this young man will have an incredible impact on his community, his generation and the world!
