Bio

Having performed the big and the little, from tiny pubs to festivals, such as the 2005/6 Falls Marion Bay APRA stage and Rage at the Ranch in Northwest Tasmania Claire is known for her Lead guitar skills and characteristic voice. She has attracted respect amongst judges and audience alike - FEM Inc. won the Federal Hotel “Battle of the Bands” 2008 judged by Isaac Sharry of Tooheys’ UNCHARTED.com and Kybosh made it to the second round of the Gold Coast NCBC heats 2008 with glowing reviews from the judges “Gutsy rock’n roll, solid grooves and simple tight arrangement led by powerful and emotive vocals...” “Claire steals the show and rightly so!” reviews on triple J unearthed of the music include “The music is tight and full of energy however it is Claire's vocals that really lift this song. She puts a lot of passion and power into her delivery.”

Even at an early age her skills did not go unnoticed. At age 16 her first ever rock band Anarkasiem took away 3 of the 5 awards at the Tasmusic Rock Challenge and were seen as one of the most popular upcoming bands in Tasmania, taking the stage with accomplished artists such as Enola Fall and Fell to Erin.

A talented composer, one of the first songs she wrote, Cartoon heroes, received airplay on Tasmania’s community radio, Edge Radio and was short listed in the youth ASA songwriting competition in 2004. From then on she has written over 60 songs – a large amount of material for someone so young. She has also composed for TV and film under the guidance of Garry Stevens and Gary McDonald, her most recent “The Audition” directed and written by Temucin Mustafa – was recently accepted into the 2008 Shorts Film Festival.

Now in 2008 after a change of climate and two years studying Music Technology at the Conservatorium of Music South Bank, Brisbane, she has but one more year to go. During this time she plans to work on her home studio, where she has started producing and recording Brisbane bands, as well as a tour and album launch for her own prodigy. Also planned for the future is to write, record, produce and perform all the material for a solo rock album.

Claire's bands are as follows:

KYBOSH (www.myspace.com/kyboshband)- comprised of Claire Seabrook (guitar, vocals), Dan Graver (drums) & Thomas Wilson (bass) is a melodic 3 piece female fronted rock band with balls! Great Australian rock reminiscent of powderfinger & superjesus. Claire's solos & rhythm she dishes out with ease while courageous vocals soar over the top. Dan is Foo fighter inspired and hits with frenzy! & Tom's bass keeps this tightly knit group together. Kybosh was formed on the 9th November 2007. Their rock sound has developed quickly due to the depth of experience and musical maturity of all the founding members. Kybosh could be compared to acts such as Foo Fighters, The Superjesus, and PJ Harvey.

OMISSION STATE (www.myspace.com/omissionstate) - comprised of Claire Seabrook (guitar, vocals), Katrina White (drums), Jennifer Hart (ex member bass), Mel Cordwell (bass) is comprised of the 3 female musicians from FEM INC and was started as a side project. The girls have been writing prolifically since they formed in 2008. The new material was quite different to that of FEM INC so they decided to create a home for the new music and hence OMISSION STATE was born. These 3 exceptional musicians have combined their new sound and their trade mark powerful stage performance to establish Omission State as a must see act.

FEM INC. (www.myspace.com/feminc) - comprised of Darren Grant (vocals, guitar), Claire Seabrook (Lead guitar), Katrina White (drums), Mel Cordwell (bass) formed in Brisbane, Australia in 2005. Get set to ROCK with this unique line up. Rarely will you see a male singer fronting a band of talented hard rock female musicians. With the stage presence of KISS, FEM INC delivers an action packed show.
