Lyrics

Daffodil's Lonely

Written By: Kyla Rawlins

I see them all wilting
In this raging stormy night
I’m sad but I'm happy
And can feel you by my side
Have you looked out your window?
Too see all the lifeless foliage

“Chorus”
Daffodils lonely and I wonder where you are
Daffodils crying and I hope that your not too far
Daffodils sighing for this storm to subside
Daffodils I’m lonely and I hope that your alright tonight
And then we start all over again

I seem to be rather crazy sorry
I cannot abide by your simplified rules
Please tell me I'm beautiful
And I'll leave you
Peacefully asleep

“Chorus”

“Bridge”
Cure me of my sins
Cure me of this pain
Just let me touch you
Just let me hold you
With my daffodils of fear
My daffodils of love

“Chorus”

Eye on the Prize

Written By: Kyla Rawlins

Trying to prove to strangers
That you’re this prize to be won
Walking down Main Street in the pouring rain
Without an umbrella so you can still be seen
By all these people, you call your friends

Making everyone believe you’re this perfect creation
This blank statue flawless when naked
Boring but oh so beautiful
Burry yourself in a hundred and fifty hard cover books
Try to take away your pain with your fairytale dreams

Mr. gentle giant with ever so soft skin
Easy enough for anyone to break in
Perfectly straight and pearly white teeth
Except one nasty cavity that no one can see but me

"Chorus"

Your insecurity
Has always been
You, trying to prove your masculinity
Fake smiles, walk right by me
Shake my hand wash it off with soap
Undress me with your negative eyes
Cause I’m not like you
Everyone has their eye on the prize
Someone has to win

I can see the pain beneath the mask
Constantly wearing your green camouflage coats
The red carpet is waiting for you
Better hurry up
The limo is here
Ready to take you away again
Better not wear what you wore last time
Someone might remember
The flash will disguise the imperfections
The professionals with cover up your flaws

When you get home
I will bye you your favorite little sugar candy
And try to temp you with some chocolate ice cream
Little things to keep you here beside me
They think just being as beautiful as you are
Is going to prove me wrong
And make me see that you are just like them
I don’t think you are

Trying to get through

Written By: Kyla Rawlins

This is a song for my dad
His eyes always looked so sad
He couldn’t show me real love
Always had to act so tough

Hiding behind his fathers mask
Haunted by his mysterious path
Not able to break free of his past
He could never make anything last

I can still see him walking away
Trying to forget about that day

Forgiving his is hard to do
Remembering its not about you
It was all he knew
Trying to get through

He had his whole life at st?ake
Went and made the same mistake
All I have left is his memory
Nothing to show my own family

Forgiving his is hard to do
Remembering its not about you
It was all he knew
Trying to get through
