Kyle Duke's daze of a song, "I Should Know Better," is a stoner's dream - perfect for a lucid float in a suburban pool on a hot summer's day. The opening guitar riff has a unique quality of lackadaisical floating, yet Duke's songwriting and performance has an incredible sense of musicality that is rare in the Demarco-esque Lo-fi bedroom pop category that is becoming more and more popular among amateur artists. Perhaps more and more of these artists come about every day due to the simplicity of the music and production, however simplicity should not be mistaken for laziness in this sub-genre, and this is why Duke soars beyond other Lo-fi soundcloud teens. The track's guitar solo exemplifies this - the nuanced chromaticisms are reminiscent of Jerry Garcia with the soul of John Mayer. - Kurrent Music

Bio
Multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and producer Kyle Duke is a rising artist in the indie rock scene, in the vein of artists such as The Growlers, Mac Demarco, and Foxygen. His sound and practice are those of a true DIY artist; his roots as a trained jazz guitarist, however, are simultaneously clear in his compositions. With credits on Factory Underground Records artist and international rock veterans Edisun’s sophomore album Collision and fellow Factory artist Che-Val’s upcoming debut release, he got his professional start as an integral studio musician at the label’s Norwalk, CT based studio and has worked closely with the young label’s founder and Edisun frontman Ethan Isaac since the label’s conception. All of Duke's own recordings are solo efforts. He composes and records all parts out of his own home studio. Since moving from Connecticut to New York, Duke has been hard at work spreading his own lo-fi brand of psychedelic, guitar-driven rock to new audiences with the help of his band The Brown Bag Boys.
