Bio

By the time Kyle Cruz was 8 years old, he was a proven child-prodigy as he had taught himself to play the guitar, bass, drums, piano, and had already written two songs. The product of a Filipino bass player for a Father and an American piano hobbyist as a Mother, it wasn't hard to believe that Kyle was naturally apt as a musician. The fact that he was surrounded by Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, and Huey Lewis & The News during his Father's band rehearsal yield it not surprising that he took so easily to soul and pop music.

During high-school, Kyle lost his best friend to a rare form of cancer, which inspired him through an artist writing phase. It was during this time that Cruz began to understand his purpose as a songwriter. He understood that music was created so others knew they were not alone in their emotions. In turn, this revolution inspired songs about teenage life, happiness, saddness, and love, and by the time Kyle graduated highschool, he had become a local favorite for his soulful songs, which led to his decision to pack up and move to Nashville.

While in Nashville, Kyle attended a recording industry university while touring the college markets in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Ohio. After a few years of that routine, Kyle left the road to team up with #1 Christian songwriter/producer Scott Davis to record an album, and after years of independent work, the team has finally released their masterpiece entitled "Kyle Cruz--How To Fly."

Now Kyle is back at it impressing audiences with his amazing guitar techniques, soulful voice, and power house lyrics that inspire listeners to "change." His songs are upbeat, but simultaneously have a depth that you just don't hear on the radio. He's outstanding as a solo performer. He's incredible with a band, and now he's simply unforgettable as he has independently produced a media driven show, touring solo in front of flat screen TVs, which add cinematography and additional audio to his unbelievable performance.

"I'm a child of 90s music videos, and since we hardly see them anymore, I wanted to find a way to rebirth that idea," Cruz says. "Besides, as entertainers we're competing with youtube and facebook via the iphone for attention with our audiences, and it just made since to put everything they're getting on their phones (movies, blogs, pictures, music) on a screens right in front of their eyes... to recreate what it means to perform."

We think he's won that race with flying colors. His show starts, lights out, as the screens and sound system flash and rumble the beginnings of a movie that last the entire show. Visualizations paint the lyrics out as he sings in sync to the movie. He sings and plays the main parts live while he surrounds himself with tracks and videos of people accompanying him. Kyle even performs with several recorded versions of himself. It's a genius idea in that it replaces the need for paying for a full band while yielding a more powerful and memorable performance.

So whether it's a solo acoustic, full band, or media-show performer you're looking for, Kyle is sure to deliver entertainment you'll talk about for weeks. His lyrics and stories might even change your life... literally. Dream BIG. Work HARD. INSPIRE. That's Kyle Cruz music.
