Kyle Grubb

My name is Kyle Grubb, I am 21 years old, I was raised in Marietta, GA and I have been writing music since I was 17. The songs that I write come not only from experiences I have observed but also from trials I have had to undergo first hand; trials from which I would not have survived had it not been for the grace of God. The day before my 18th birthday I went into septic shock in the hospital from a rare parasite infection, and my family was told I wouldn’t be coming home. Miraculously I made it home, but over the course of the two following years, as anyone who has perspective on the matter will tell you; when you are forced to fight for your life, everything changes. During the months of hospital visits and trying to maintain respectable grades for my high school graduation, there was no time for things in my life that I had once held very close. I lost touch with a lot of people I cared about and would have even lost touch with the man I wanted to be had it not been for my relationship with Christ. After having the required surgeries and treatments to combat the effects of the parasite that for sometime had gone misdiagnosed, I passed the time spent healing and numbed my pain by playing music for hours and hours every day. See after two years of not knowing if you are going to live to see 21 you learn to let the little things go. I led my high school’s chapel band, and even before getting sick I had always imagined working in Nashville somewhere in the music industry. It was this time spent healing and working with the talents I had been given however, that led me to put so much of myself into singing and songwriting until it became a part of who I am. Everybody has that one special thing that allows them to share who they are with others, mine is music. Music is about expressing emotion and telling a story. The mark of a truly great musician is not simply airplay or time spent at the top of a chart (although do not misunderstand me, these accomplishments are truly worthy of recognition), but rather someone who at any given time is trying to improve there skill so they may better tell their story with each time it is told. I am giving away what music I have made and hitting the road to perform everywhere and anywhere that I can.
