Biography

Band? Us Two! We two - Elbert Joseph and Qerlos Joseph - create the sounds you hear.
Biography

Elbert and Qerlos are a father and son duo who began collaborating on writing music together in 2007, two years ago.

With the presence of a guitar and at least one keyboard in the house, live music has always been a part of the Joseph home. The family has performed music over the last 20 years in churches and the community.

Elbert has played guitar and bass since teenage years, playing with several bands. More recently – 20 years or so - Elbert has been accompanying artists with guitar and keyboards, making performance tracks for performers and leading choirs.

Q began – at age 7 - creating instrumental music with electronic keyboards and his PC as soon as he figured out the familiar patterns of most music. He has a huge collection of creative music (sampled and original works), many of which have found their way into Elbert’s collection as songs.

Their collaboration features Elbert’s lyrics and live acoustic guitar. Q arranges the music, plays live keyboards, writes most of the music each with distinctive bass lines and percussion patterns, and is the engineering wiz.

Lyrics

Toronto Celebrate 175

Written By: Elbert Joseph

I live here, I love here, I love to live here, y'hear.
Heads up in the clouds, standing [standing proud] on the overpasses of the Highway of Heroes.
Walking with crowds, proud to share you with the two and a half million, No-one's a zero!

Toronto! We owe you for the brave and the honourable
Toronto! We owe you; men and women on duty, night and day, rain and shine to be our cover. Toronto! We owe you.

One hundred and seventy five years! Toronto Celebrates.
[two and a half million people celebrate]
Come from West Rouge Park
Come from Rouge Valley Park [One hundred and seventy five years!]
Come from Glendale Memorial Gardens
[One hundred and seventy five years]
Come from Marie Curtis Park. [two and a half million people celebrate]
Toronto people celebrate!

Happy now! Walking safe in town!
Proud to share her with two and a half million, no-one's a zero!

I live here, I love here, I love to live here, y'hear.
Tugging at my heart
Slices of heaven along the lakeshore, greatness knocking at your door

Sampling all the faces of people from all of earth's places
And still there's room for more

One hundred and seventy five years, Toronto Celebrates.
Two and a half million people celebrate
One hundred and seventy five years. Toronto Celebrates.
[two and a half million people celebrate]
Come from West Rouge Park
[two and a half million people celebrate]
Come from Rouge Valley Park
One hundred and seventy five years.
Come from your Humber River communities
Come from Marie Curtis Park
[two and a half million people celebrate]
Toronto people celebrate
Happy now!

One hundred and seventy five years, Toronto Celebrates.
[two and a half million people celebrate]
Come from West Rouge Park
Come from Rouge Valley Park
