"Brooklyn’s L’or Tackles On The Issue of Mental Health with Her New Single “Falling Under” | @theegold_"

Brooklyn’s R&B/Pop artist L’ôr will be releasing her blazing new single “Falling Under,” a feel good Alternative R&B track letting the world know how to overcome Mental Health and/or Depression. L’or states that “Falling Under” was the hardest for her to write. In the Black community, mental health has always been some sort of taboo due to the negative stigma surrounding the issue. Instead of seeking professional help for conditions such as depression and anxiety, many in the community resort to drugs, opioids, alcohol or isolation in an attempt to solve their problems on their own. It’s interesting to read that African Americans living at or below poverty are three times more likely to report serious psychological distress than those living in poverty. We are also 20% more likely to experience serious mental health problems than the rest of the general population, but the harsh truth still remains that many Black people are still in denial, shame, or lack knowledge on the subject. The multi talented artist is deciding face the issue head on with not only her inspirational track, but also a campaign for Mental Health Recovery’s PSAs that have been developed by the U.S Department of Health and Human Service and the AD Council. The campaign PSAs are targeted particularly to high school and college-age youth-who can make a difference by reaching out to friends and family members to get help when they need it. Suicide, is the third largest cause of death for young people age 18-50, usually involves mental illness. Her goal is to feed the masses and make a mark in the culture with her musical skills. All L’ôr’s music is personally driven by her own life story. After all, who can tell it better than she can? “Falling Under” is available for pre-order now on iTunes. The single drops February 1st. In 2018 L’ôr was hired as a musical director for “I’m Still In Love With You” hit singer Marcia Aitken’s 2018 festival tour, and has been mentored by veteran writers like Stacy Barthe and Andrea Martin. Blessed to be around people with sultry, melodious voice that the people love to hear, she is working hard to follow and recreate the blueprint of some of the legends before her, which include a variety of artists such as Toni  Braxton, Brandy, and Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Pink and other great female  artist's influences from the 80's & 90's L’ôr looks to entertain the music world with great music and energy.
When asked about her growth as an artist  L’ôr stated, "I grew with this new EP sonically and creatively because i wrote a vision for the project that was a sound  that is deeply rooted in R&B but has evolved to an alternative pop sound centered around catchy hooks and infectious melodies.  She loves the 80's and 90's musical approach and wanted to do the same thing, and keep her sound similar but also evolving.

Falling Under is a feel good Alternative R&B track on her upcoming EP and  was the hardest for her to write. The beat had already been made and she kept trying to come up with something but had to keep it real, she wanted to write a song letting the  world know how to overcome Mental Health | Depression.
