La Mandanga is a six piece flamenco/rumba music band from the the Bay Area.
Our sound can be described as Flamenco fusion, where we combine upbeat rhythms, the passion of the gypsy with Javier Jimenez on the lead guitar, catchy melodies and haunting lyrics dramatically written by Alberto Guiterrez founder of the band.
La Mandanga sound originated in Spain where 3 out of 6 members are from. Mark Bell & Luis Jimenez on the 2 cajons beautifully work a unique sound blending Arabian & Spanish rhythms, Steve Gardner harmonized all the melodies and add a spicy touch with his fiddle, while Joe Nemzer keep everyone to a solid beat.
La Mandanga has been playing all over the Bay Area the last 3 years and has released their first full length studio album "Manteca Sonora".
