"Lacero - Lacero"

This is the hugely enjoyable new album from Washington based rock band Lacero. This album has all the fundamentals I like about albums of this genre that strikes that chord with me for its rich diversity, fun energy and passion. A lot of care and attention has gone into the creation of the album, and it baffles me as to why artists like Lacero are not huge. The band’s music has all the hallmarks that fans of pure rock music will fully enjoy. The band are Sean Lafferty - vocals, Craig Cabana - guitar, Jason Eaks - bass and drummer Josh Carter.

'Entiat' is awesome, the sound is huge and the band come over like a mix of King's X, Metallica and Alice In Chains. Sean Lafferty has a killer captivating voice and bass player Jason Eaks really pounds his way on this track. 'IX' is a little rawer in style and reminds me of AIC. 'Solace' is a gorgeous instrumental that could almost be progressive rock/metal. I love the texture and build of this song, it has a warming ambient feel and the guitar work is excellent, reminds me in some ways of Metallica's 'One' in the guitar department only. 'Somber' is moody and melodic with wonderful vocals, the song really drives and lulls you in, again this comes over like AIC with a melodic slant a'la Alter Bridge. 'Tomorrows Today' is a towering track, again Sean really pushes himself and if there is one song the band should aim for European radio then this is it, it's dark, moody and beautifully constructed, stunning song, musically and lyrically, live this must smoke, during some parts of the song, Sean reminds of Ozzy Osbourne.

There is so much to enjoy from this album and the songs flow with ease and you can tell that the band had fun recording this album, there is a lot of depth flowing here. I'm really excited about these guys, musically it's all here, there is something for everyone to enjoy throughout the record, we couldn't ask for more really, well we could, and we may get it if you go out buy the album and support the band. Watch out for Lacero, one to look out for in the future and a band who perform with feeling and style, and that’s a rare thing.
