Bio
Lacey was born the youngest of six, in the rural area of Bolivar, Missouri. Her earliest memories in life were of music and her desire to sing. At the age of four, she spent most of her time listening to and studying songs by artists like Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson. Although country music was the popular choice of her peers, Lacey was naturally drawn to R&B, soul, and hip-hop. As she grew older, she faced criticism from those around her, but her desire to sing only became stronger. She realized how little opportunity there would be for her if she stayed in Bolivar. After she graduated high school, Lacey moved away from friends and family to Philadelphia where she attended The University of the Arts on a scholarship for visual art. "I developed my visual art talent from my mother who is an artist. Because I had never had any music/voice training, I used that background to get me closer to a musical environment. "-Lacey Lacey attended the University of the Arts for three years, before she decided to pursue music full time. Her first endeavor came when she started Laced Productions, a home-based recording & production studio. She also began performing in venues from Philly to NYC with her band, worked as a background singer for an r&b group and a rock artist, and began writing/recording songs for her own and other up and coming artists projects. She has been recognized for writing on a nationally released, Grammy listed album from local recording artist Cecil Parker and is currently taking courses in Music Business at Berklee College of Musics online school, while she continues to write and perform. Lacey is making a strong impression on fans of all different races and ages. She has been compared to artists ranging from Mariah Carey to Janet Jackson to Alicia Keys. Her songs are driven by her soulful melodies and gospel influenced arrangements, yet infused with the perfect blend of pop/R&B. With a style, look, and a sound that is irresistible and real, Lacey is guaranteed to find much success as she sets out to build her musical legacy.
