"Indie Artist Spotlight - Lacey D"

Emerging from the Pacific NW, Lacey D is a country singer who is bound to turn heads with her debut effort. Her roots honor the grand dames of country such as Tanya Tucker and Loretta Lynn, while stylistically nodding in a more modern direction to the shade of Carrie Underwood. With the legendary Scott Turner producing, Lacey performs songs from a varied cross section of songwriters and shows remarkable maturity, confidence and depth with her vocal performances. "Back Burner" has a gutsy, blues-edged quality, while "You Are" is a touching yet powerful ballad. "Missin' Your Love Tonight" shows that she can handle upbeat foot stompers as well. Lacey is the kind of talent Nashville should be looking for as the growing numbers of country purists hunger for something to rise above the corporate country miasma. - Music Morsels, Mark E. Waterbury

"Lacey D - Everyday Girl"

Seattle Native Lacey D harkens back to the days of good old honky-tonk country. You could easily picture her singing in a roadside bar down south while Daisy Duke waits tables and Bo and Luke look on, but I suspect Lacey D is headed for bigger venues than that before she's done. With a big country voice and girl-next-door charm, Lacey D is the sort of artist that country music needs to save it from becoming rock-lite.

Her band draws from some of the best that Nashville has to offer: Michael Behymer (Roy Clark), Fred Newell (Jerry Reed, Marty Stewart) and David Northrup (Travis Tritt) all help to craft the sound under producer Scott Turner. "Your Tender Love" has #1 hit written all over it and songs like "Back Burner, "Man at Home" and "Missin' Your Love Tonight" will have you two-steppin' until dawn. The highlight of the album may be the Country-Blues ballad "One Heart". You can almost hear Ray Charles singing along with Lacey D on this one.

In an age when much of Country music is pre-packaged and slick, Lacey D brings a dose of good-ole' country to your ears. If you haven't heard this you're missing out, whether you're a fan of mainstream country or not.

RATING: Buy It Soon! - "Wildy"

"Seattle's Lacey D has her sights set on Nashville"

Surrounded by admirers Dec. 4 at the Little Red Hen, the local country singer with the rich, soulful voice celebrated the release of her new CD, "Everyday Girl", by performing a few songs and talking about her career. Among the tunes was "One Heart", originally written for Elvis Presley.

"Everyday Girl", released on West Country Records, was recorded in Nashville with producer Scott Turner (Slim Whitman, Jimmy Bryant) and other Nashville veterans and is available at Lacey D's website. The album includes a dozen songs, among them "Back Burner", "Missin' Your Love Tonight" and "True Love Waits".

Lacey D plans to move to Nashville next year to pursue the next stage in her singing career, which began at 14 when she recorded the "Star Spangled Banner".

Launching a career in Nashville can be as bumpy as a ride on a mechanical bull, but the singer says her friends and family are behind her: "My dreams are endless and I'm ready for the ride." - Seattle PI, Gene Stout

""This Girl Can Sing""

"This Girl, Lacey D, CAN sing. If you haven't heard her yet, trust me, you will!!

- David Northrup, Nashville Drummer

"Arlington's Own Idol"

..."Everday Girl" is a solid collection of classic country sounds. Slide guitar, piano and Lacey's big, bold voice anchor these songs. Some feel fitted to a barroom, particularly the up-tempo "Missin' Your Love Tonight" and the title track. Lacey also tries to wring out a few tears with love songs such as "One Heart" and "You Are".

Scott Turner, a Nashville-based producer who heard Lacey's demo, recorded the album during a whirlwind week in Music City USA. "She doesn't sound like anybody else", Turner said, mentioning he's worked with Rosemary Clooney. "It was a joy to work with her." - Everett Herald, Andy Rathburn
