After being signed, LaChelle’s infectious personality prompted the label to ask her to write a letter to her fans and supporters. We had no idea that her personality would shine through, as it did, and we decided to let her letter serve as her bio. We hope you enjoy it and that it helps you grasp who she is as a person and young artist.

I’m LaChelle, Flash Records (FEAM Group)/ Global Icon Media / Universal Music Group recording artist, and I’m so excited to be starting this amazing journey of realizing my dream. I was born and raised in Kansas City, MO and it was there that my passion for music was developed. I began performing very early in life, somewhere around the age of three, never missing the chance to entertain anyone willing to pay attention. I was such a drama queen! I would credit my mom with feeding my appetite for entertaining. She was always playing music and dancing, encouraging my brothers, and I, to join her in heart expression.

The first memory I have, of me realizing that I definitely wanted to be a singer, was when I heard Whitney Houston sing ‘I will always love you.’ She is my biggest vocal influence and I absolutely adore the music she has given to the world. My destiny expanded once more when I saw Michael Jackson’s “Moonwalker”. He is the reason I wanted to become not just a singer, but an entertainer. That was really all it took for me and from then on I began preparing for my time to come.

One would never believe that this young lightning bolt of a singer and dancer suffers from Scoliosis. Refusing to let it derail her, she returned to singing, dancing and searching for a way to attain her dream. Several years later when time seemed to be running away from me, I decided I needed to display my gifts via an Internet video demo. I had prayed so long for a chance to meet the right person, at the right time, with a need for what I offered. Little did I know that time had arrived. It was late in the evening when I got the phone call, “Hello may I speak with LaChelle?” My mind was racing, who could this be calling at this time of night? After answering, I found out! His name was Flash Rodriguez, CEO of Flash Records (The FEAM Group) and he had just finished watching my demo videos. I couldn’t believe it! By the end of that conversation, we agreed to speak again and over the next few weeks we spoke several more times and I sent to him, and the team at Flash Records, more audition video clips. By the end of week three, I was signed to Flash Records (FEAM Group)/ Global Icon / Universal Music Group as a recording artist.

They immediately flew me to New York to begin working on my first album and I don’t think there could have been a better situation. I quickly met with label executives, Flash Rodriguez, CEO, and Ephren Taylor, CFO, along with their Creative Director. It was great. I had a photo shoot, after only being in New York two days and the label was really excited to have me on board. I explained to them that, as an artist, I wanted to make music that feels good and inspires people to live and love from the heart, so that years from now they will be able to play my music and still smile and hit the dance floor. I want people of all ages to see me living my dreams and become empowered to go after theirs. My label CEO, Flash Rodriguez, did not disagree with my focus and has embraced everything about me. I love being a part of the Flash Records (The FEAM Group), Icon and Universal Music Group families and I know there are wonderful things to come.

I am still in the beginning phases of my career so all my goals are focused, here and now. However, in five years I’d like to be an established writer, Grammy winner, award-winning actress and, at least have, two world tours under my belt! I’d also like to be able to put Kansas City on the map, as a force to be reckoned with in the world of the arts. I know it sounds like a lot, but why not dream BIG.
