LaCinda Thackeray

Singer/song writer Lacinda Thackeray is from the beautiful city of South Jordan, Utah. Her music talents progressed, beginning with playing piano at the age of six, learning to play the saxophone at nine, singing in her school choir, then competing in local talent shows in middle school. In high school Lacinda was involved in the Jazz Band, Marching Band, Early Morning Orchestra, and the Wind Symphony. She continued her music education with Ladies Choir, Church Choir, and Independent Music Study.

Lacinda’s early influences include her mother who is a huge Country Music fan. Lacinda grew up listening to great talents like Reba, Martina McBride, and Faith Hill. Those examples gave her the desire to pursue a music career. She competed on the American Idol auditions, took private voice lessons with Maurie Vance and Tracy Reinhard and she recently won Second Place at the USU Idol competition.

The middle child of a family of 7 children, LaCinda learned the value of hard work and patience. After graduating from high school in 2003, LaCinda attended Utah State University, studying Music Therapy, while working part time at Legacy House Assisted Living. Her natural nurturing qualities made Lacinda perfect for the job, and she fell in love with the residents there, helping them with their needs. She soon switched her major to Nursing and is currently working on her RN degree.

Although Lacinda is now in school working on her Nursing degree, her real love and passion, and her ultimate dream is to achieve success in the music business, and she continues to sing and write every chance she gets. Just recently Lacinda made a trip to Nashville to co-write with some of the best song writers in town. That resulted in several amazing songs, a few of which were produced by veteran record producer Kent Wells. (Dolly Parton’s record producer)Her project or originals songs was recorded at the famous Sound Kitchen Studios in Franklin, TN. Lacinda is already getting airplay in Utah and is excited about the future!
