Bio
La Défense is Hillary (guitar, vocals) and Lydia (drums). We started playing weekly bedroom jam sessions in October 2009, developing our accessibly off-kilter girl punk sound. In July, we were selected to perform at Brooklyn's Northside Festival, playing our second show ever alongside some of the finest local talent (other Northside performers included Liars, Les Savy Fav and Wavves). We've since played shows at Williamsburg, Brooklyn spots like Public Assembly, Bruar Falls and Zebulon, as well as Manhattan rock haven Pianos.
Our songs are fast and fun. Distorted guitar chords, pop punk beats and simple melodies. Kind of like the Ramones meets your mom's cherry pie.
