LadyBird is nominally a Jazz ensemble, but their music is a smooth blend of Jazz, Pop, Soul, Blues, Folk, and Afro Caribbean sounds. At its largest the ensemble is a quintet consisting of Drums, Bass, Guitar, Keys, and Vocals, however LadyBird often performs in smaller settings. Lead vocalist LB and guitar player John Simon perform frequently as a duo, and enjoy the scaled down acoustic versions of their songs.
Some bands thrive on creative agreement others seem to work better because of the disparity of bandmates striking creative sparks from collisions of taste. LadyBird pulls their unique sound from the vast variety of influences the ensemble brings to the table. Lead vocalist, LB more in tune with the old Jazz vocalists and modern soul sounds, while Lead guitarist, John Simon is into the more rootsy stylings such as finger picking, folk, and blues.
LadyBird is excited to be on the local scene and hopes you enjoy their musical creations as much as they love playing them.
