Bio
Ladybug Thrusts was formed in the summer of 2002, by Satoshi Ogawa (guitar) and Tohru Kawakami (drums). They collaborated their similar interests and goals to create music. Soon after a vocalist and bassist were added. Ladybug Thrusts music was not just a commercial genre style. The band had the inspiration to introduce Japanese Visual Shock. In their earlier shows they added eccentric costumes and make-up.
Ladybug Thrusts began performing live in 2002. The band's sound contained heavy, emotional guitar solos with capturing pop hooks. The club crowds were mesmerized at how different the music was compared to the regular music scene. But after observing the show, it was definitely apparent Ladybug Thrusts had extremely talented musicians.
The band continued to perform for the next year, by 2003 the original vocalist and bassist parted and the rest of the band separated. The founders Satoshi (guitar) and Tohru (drums)worked on other projects. Both missing the musical works they had created in Ladybug Thrusts, they decided to reunite.
May 2004, Kazu Takada (bassist) and Jenna Youn(vocalist) joined the new Ladybug Thrusts. The addition of Jenna's unique, overpowering vocals have completely changed the band's sound and style from the previous years.
Ladybug Thrusts is presently performing at clubs and quickly expanding their fanbase from every live show. They are also working on their CD, to be released around April 2005.
Ladybug Thrusts diverse musical style is contributed from the band's attitude that ''music is music and it doesn't have to be so limited to one and only genre''.
'' We would like to get our music heard by as many different people, as possible''.
Attending a Ladybug Thrusts show is a must to acknowledge Jenna's incredible stage presence and the extreme talent of the musicians that form this band.
