Once again, Lady LaShae outshines the competition in Tommy Ford’s The Last One Standing talent showcase.

Washington, DC, September 1, 2008: Her angelic tone and vocal command appears effortless as Lady LaShae of Skyline Records sings I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston at Tommy Ford’s The Last One Standing talent showcase. Her R&B and gospel roots are evident in her performance of one of Whitney Houston’s most infamous and powerful songs. Widely revered as an arduous song, the piece proved no match for her vocal range. Lady LaShae is an entertainer like none other; her flawless vibratos coupled with her perfect pitch and immaculate stage presence epitomizes her own passion for music and love for this song.
No stranger to competition, Lady LaShae is expected to make the top five finalists in The Last One Standing competition. Fresh off the stage, Lady LaShae is asked how she felt about her performance. “I don’t really know what to expect; I think I did well and the crowd seemed to like it. I’m just humbled by the experience and happy to share my gift”. The audience gave a standing ovation to the up-and-coming vocalist. Having graced audiences from DC to New York, Lady LaShae is an artist on the rise; not to be ignored.

She prides herself in being a multi-faceted vocalist. Lady LaShàe – a unique artist, songstress and lover of all genres of music. Building on her foundation of gospel influence and the soulful sounds of The Briscoe Brothers, a band comprised of her grandfather and great uncles; Lady LaShàe has had singing in her soul since childhood. Born and raised in the Washington DC area and growing up in the church, she soon realized her love and talent for singing. Lady LaShàe has honed her talent and at sixteen shared her gift in front of her first audience, starring in an Urban Change Production entitled “Satan Exposé Live”, directed by Jay Cameron. Her experience in the play opened doors to various opportunities as a back up singer and soloist for the two years following. In 2007, Lady LaShàe auditioned for American Idol in South Carolina where she endured several rounds, her tour ending in Pennsylvania. Lady LaShàe returned home having received a crash course in the business of the music industry. She was ready to take her talent to new heights and capitalize on her experiences. Lady LaShàe joined the Skyline family as an artist and A/R manager expanding the label’s network to incorporate Gospel, Soul and R&B. Lady LaShàe has graced audiences everywhere; showcasing at events at downtown DC’s club MCCXXIII, The Legends Nightclub and Zanzibar on the Waterfront. Her dedicated work ethic and ability to multi-task allowed her also to compete in the Tommy Ford Last One Standing musical talent competition winning first place in the R&B category. Lady LaShàe admits to several influences in her musical background. Inspirations from Anita Baker, Tina Turner, and Gladys Knight to Alanis Morisette, Avril Levine, and Janis Joplin helped shape a vocal style that she has made her own. Her vocal range allows her to cross genres from Gospel, R&B, Jazz and yes, even Krunk. From vocal styles of various artists, she has made her own distinct voice that demands attention yet delights the ear and empowers the heart. Lady LaShàe’s possesses commanding stage presence and powerful vocal control that creates a feeling of connection with her music and lyrics. Her goal is to connect with her fans and let them know that she too has gone through and yet emerged triumphant.
