Chosen! is a book written by author Felicia L. Craig a.k.a. LadyLight. It is designed to empower and encourage youth who desire to walk out their calling right now! Below is a reading sample:
MYTH #1: You were born to be independent.
THE TRUTH: Independence separates you from God. You were born to move from dependence on your parents /guardians to dependence on God.
After you were born, you depended on your parents or guardians for life. They did everything for you and over time they began to do less & less.
Have you noticed you no longer need them to survive? This is normal, but do not allow this revelation to deceive you. Where they leave off is not where you pick up. Where they leave off is where God picks up. Most teens want the power to govern their lives, even though that power was never theirs to have. That power rightfully belongs to God. Why? He knows the plans He has for you, this is the Lord’s declaration, plans for your welfare not plans for disaster, to give you a future and a hope (Jer. 29:11). Jesus states in John, that He came to give us life and life abundantly. How can we tap into this rich satisfying life? Only God knows the way, and thus His need for the power. If we give God control, and follow Him, we’ll avoid unnecessary drama. Notice that I said unnecessary drama. Because of sin, there will always be two kinds of drama:
The kind sin creates and the kind we help create.

LadyLight’s heart for revival concerning youth fuels her continual outreach and exhortation to communities of youth in Austin and beyond. Her desire is to empower youth through public speaking and the utilization of media.
An award winning speaker, she currently speaks at various events and full-time for Austin LifeGuard. As an artist she has released 3 singles which are: Chosen Ones, And There Wuz Light, and her latest We Worship You. Her media endeavors include co-hosting the radio show All The Way Live!, co-hosting the TV show 3rd Coast Fiyah, writing the Great Physician Column, Anchoring LadyLight’s Spotlight, writing for Tha Message magazine, and lastly she has authored the mini-booklet Chosen!. Annually she chairs the youth conference Revolt! at Huston-Tillotson University. The youth conference now also includes the Young Gifted and Talented Awards which are designed to empower both youth and youth groups.
LadyLight’s specialties:
Public Speaking: Anything related to youth development especially in the area of healthy relationships and abstinence. Also available to train and empower both parents and youth leaders to reach youth especially in the area of healthy relationships and abstinence.
Artist: Could include a mixture of rap, public speaking, spoken word, and media.
Musical Influence: A native Austinite, LadyLight has been influenced by the various musical elements of the Austin music scene. This includes her grandfather AD Watson who is an original founding member of the famous group: The Original Bells of Joy.
