Bio

Meet Sherica Isler (born April 10th, 1984), better known by my nickname Reek as an American rapper, singer, songwriter and dancer. I started out singing and dancing at the age of three and performed at various locations in my community. Standing out as a gifted child blessed with several talents such as dancing, drawing, writing cosmetology and music. I attended the School of the Arts for Ballet. In High School I majored in cosmetology. Unlike other artist, music was not one of my career goals. It was not until I reached High School that I found an interest in writing music. I entered a talent show my sophomore year in which I sang and ended my performance with sophisticated flo. I surprisingly received such a positive response. It was at that moment I considered changing my career path.

In 2001 I entered the Queens of the Iron Mic contest and made it to the top five finalist. At the time, I went by stage name The Golden Child and won the final battle round. I was crowned Queen by the crowd. Continuously writing but not in the studio as much, I frequently recited my music and perfecting my delivery. I started performing more, and seldom often watched other artist perform so that I could establish my own stage presence. From then on it was onto open mic nights, karaoke, several contest, shows and studio time.

April of 2009 I opened up for Atlanta's own famed rapper Gucci Mane. Performing my latest two singles at the time "Say My Name" and "Searching For My Baby". June 2009 I attended the two day Nerv Dj's Summit & Artist Showcase and performed. August 2010 I attended Memphis TN and performed at the Memphis Hip Hop weekend & expo. September 2010 I was entered in the Dynasty Magazine and was posted inside of the Call and post newspaper under CP2 spotlight.

When asked of my inspiration today I respond with, the struggles I've overcome and the journey is my inspiration. My passion for music has helped me realize how much writing has been an outlet for me. Suffering from insomnia, depression, low self- esteem and abuse has also motivated me to inspire other's as well. I am inspired by so many artist in the industry, but greatly inspired by Jay-Z and the late rapper Tupac Shakur. Now at the age of 26, I have the image, stage presence, delivery, lyrical content and certified swagger. All in which are mandatory today to stand out, shine, sale and make it to the top. Like so many, I dream to one day become the Greatest but for now I'm working hard towards being Great!
