Bio

Lakeland, an acoustic rock band from Raleigh, NC, formed in 2002 with a desire for an original sound and creative lyrics. Lead vocalists and lifelong friends, Richard Paules and Danny Jorgenson, spearheaded Lakeland writing all their original songs. Shortly after, they asked their hometown friend, Jeremy Innes, to join the band and carry the baseline.
After forming in early high school, they began to earn local recognition, building a strong following in the surrounding areas. They won multiple Battle of the Bands contests and in 2005 recorded their debut EP titled, “How Fast We Fall.”
Lakeland has encountered challenges in the transition from high school to different local universities. Though more distance has come between them, their desire to write and play music has become stronger. They continue to play regular weekend shows across North Carolina with aspiring professional artists. Their fan base has seen notable growth and they are quickly gaining popularity with college students.
In spring of 2007, Lakeland parted ways with their drummer of five years. Quickly pursuing another drummer they found Aaron Wilson, an extremely talented percussionist. Aaron is a great addition to the band. He blended well, improved their sound, and expanded possibilities.
Lakeland finished their first full length record in January 2008, displaying the growth of their music over the past six years. They have recently been talking with industry representatives and hope to take the next step in their music career.
As Lakeland continues to develop their edge they are looking to provoke the emotions of their listeners. They express life changes through their honest lyrics and deliver soothing harmonies with a passionate sound.
