STORY OF A GET IT BOY

With an unpredictable flow, lyrics of a scholar, creativity of a modern day Michelangelo and a voice powerful enough to shake a coliseum, twenty-year old recording artist LaKid Wise has the secret ingredients that he is bringing to the table so the industry "better have their plates ready". As well as dedicating his soul to Hip-Hop, his talents are way beyond the rap genre. Considering himself an overall musical artist or genius perhaps, LW's is also a singer/songwriter/producer. R&B and Pop are also alternatives of his but Rock is one of his best interests. It has been done before by way of collaboration such as Linkin Park and Jay-Z but never has one individual taken the chance to do it all alone. Through word of mouth it has been stated that this Hip-Rock star is the resurrection of what music was with a whole new face before it became overpopulated with quantity and not quality. This is the story of a Get It Boy.

Born in Algeria, no one would predict that Mr. Khaled Ouaaz would change the game forever. Unfortunately, the terrorism that went on uprooted the Ouaaz family to leave the homeland and immigrate to the United States. Since the age of 5, he has been a Brooklyn boy with the rawest New York accent and a style and swagger that you cannot buy at the stores. Right before turning 13, he had completed a home demo which by fortunate luck got the chance to be presented to Roc-a-fella and Def Jam Records. How? He left voice messages to various executives late at night and as crazy as it sounds, he got a call the following morning! Although it was an interesting experience performing for the label staff, the demo was not great material. However, never being able to say Yes to No, halfway through freshman year, young Khaled took his initiative and got an internship at Roc-a-fella.

Throughout a year and a half from the Promotions to the A&R department, "being a 14-15 year old surrounded by 20-50 year old Exec's, meeting the guys I used to see on TV and learning about the business was one of the best times of my life...(laughs) and I wasn't even getting paid for it". No longer working there in the Spring of '04, slowly but surely the dream was about to come alive. "Holding The New York Crown Vol.1" was his first independent LP and who, when, how and why? It was a 17 year old teenager with a major plan in 2006, his senior year of high school. With no one's help whatsoever from the music, creative work and the investments, you ask "why?". His answer to your question is another question for ages, "why not?".

Overall the first album was nothing more than a necessary lesson to get him ready for the next record "Breaking Down" which has released on September 23rd, 2008. "Breaking Down" features amazing songs such as "Chivalry", "Walk Down Memory Chain" which provides closure for his fallen grandmother whom he literally keeps close to his heart each day on a white gold pendant, "Man Of The Year" which takes a Jekyll & Hyde approach playing two characters, friendly but sarcastic "LaKid" and hot-tempered "Wise" verbally battling each other throughout the concept and lastly the smash Hip-Rock hit, titled after the album, "Breaking Down" which will be his calling to stardom. Within the past two years LaKid Wise has evolved from a corner artist to an artist that has cornered the market. With a 10K budget he has created a million dollar album. As fans have stated, "his music is so much better than so many of these major artists and stuff I've been hearing on the radio for the past few years". It is hard to believe that LaKid is only a kid that will yet be considered one of the great ones of all time. As he quotes after charming the world with his million dollar smile, "Keep your ears listening and your eyes open... Witness the real".
