About Lamar James…
Lamar James, born James Lamar Brown in Augusta, Georgia on August 17, 1968, grew up in the small town of Bowersville, GA. There he began his music career, singing in a gospel group with his three sisters, at the age of five. Lamar James has been writing songs since the age of nine. He started his first musical group at the age of thirteen and won many local talent shows in the states of Georgia and South Carolina. He also started another musical group at the age of twenty-one and within six months had opened concert for Ms. Dorothy Norwood. At age twenty seven he started a youth Praise & Worship team that led to his appointment as Music Pastor, at Glad tidings, a full time position.
He has sung, led, and directed many groups that have opened for Ron Kenoly,
Al Denson, and many others in their genre of music. Lamar has traveled and sung nationally and internationally. He recently sang at Shambach Revival Ministries in Tyler, Texas and also in Mexico City, Mexico. The music of Lamar James has been well received throughout his travels. His debut single “A Sovereign Move” acquired rave reviews at the 2003 Central South Retail Conference held in Atlanta, Georgia from all who heard, and particularly from the New Artist Showcase judges Sanchez Harley (renown gospel music producer), Mark Harris (Pinnacle Records), Andrelle Perry (ABC Radio Network), and Neely Dickerson (President, Church Howse Music).
