ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Lamar Robinson was born to David and Glindora Robinson in Salisbury, MD. His mother, a very religious woman insisted Lamar and his two older brothers attend church every Sunday at Trinity Tabernacle Church of Jesus Christ. By the time Lamar was 7 years old he was already playing the piano and singing lead in the choir with his older bother, David Jr. Dave, also a musician and singer, decided to introduce Lamar to the “world of production” by bringing him to the studio and teaching him how to operate the M.P.C. 2000 and numerous keyboards.

At 11 years old he was taught to read and play trumpet music. During this time he became the lead singer in the group, which include him and his brother Dave.

When he was 13 years old he was introduced to the famous baseball player Delano Deshields, Delano became so interested in young Lamar’s talents that he consulted with his parents on moving Lamar to his house / studio in Atlanta GA. At first Lamar’s mother was reluctant, she wanted her son to study gospel music, but after some convincing and some reassurance her son was in good hands, she let Lamar pursue his dreams with Delano in R&B and Hip Hop music. So without delay Delino relocated Lamar to Atlanta, where he lived in the same house with super producer No I.D. (mentor to Kanye West).

During this time he watched No I.D. produce records for Jay Z(“All around the world”), Lloyd Banks(“Smile”), and many others, including Common and Toni Braxton. When Lamar reached his 16th birthday he was creating music like a veteran producer. While his stay in Atlanta, Lamar learned to operate Pro Tools and record himself without an outside engineer.

Today, Lamar has archives of songs and hundreds of tracks. At 19 years old he has been compared to a young John Legend, and a male Alicia Keys because of the way he performs with a piano. Lamar has also opened concerts for artist such as Nore and Mob Deep.

Recently, Lamar and his brother Dave p/k/a “Soulja” have signed exclusively to Rainysongs Entertainment, and are in the process of shopping a major deal.

Lamar is currently working on his debut album with the production expertise of Rainy Davis, Pete “Soprano”. Additional production coming from, Rainysongs Artist Padrone (Bad-Boy, Dr. Dre, Knocturnal), Jarett Frimer (Lyric) and additional contributions coming from producers Dave p/k/a “Soulja” and his long time friend, Sekou Porter.
