Bio
Lana Fame is the ultimate embodiment of a star. Her sultry, mezzo-soprano voice, combined with her raw, unprecedented sound are delivered in a way that makes her curse words sound complimentary. An untrained vocalist, she humbly describes her voice as a gift from God. The 23-year-old, Houston, TX native began to sing as soon as she could talk. She participated in choir and took dance lessons, as a child, but was well on her way before then. Her vocal abilities led her to go on to win statewide and national singing competitions as well as receive multiple invitations to audition for major television network singing competition shows.
At the age of 12, Fame began writing music. Eventually, with the encouragement of her younger sister, Fame created a YouTube page, to share her vocal gift with the world. In just a few years, her YouTube account has amassed over 20,000 subscribers and over 2.7 million views. An unsigned, independent artist, her fan base has surpassed that of many artists who are currently signed to major record labels. In addition, the quality and substance of her music surpass that of some of todays radio favorites. Her star power is not limited to the vocal booth. Over the past three years, shes graced over one hundred and fifty stages. In addition to many live concert and private event performances, she has also lent her gift to philanthropic causes, including The American Lung Associations Fight for Air Climb, Tunes 4 Autism, Fashion for the Cure, and The 2013 Boys and Girls Teen Summit.
Having added her personal touch to numerous mainstream artists works, on YouTube, Fames musicality and tonal delivery are revered. Her vocal tone is so distinct that, on several occasions, her fans have identified imposters who have lip-synced to Fames voice. Her video covers of Drakes "Hold on Were Going Home" and Ciaras "Body Party" were published on Houston's only urban radio station, 97.9 The Boxs, website. Her Frank Ocean Thinking about You cover has garnered almost 300,000 views. Her feature on rapper Mekka Dons "Forever Love" helped to land the song and video among many top websites including TheSource.com and AllHipHop.com. The song is also a hit on college radio.
Fames first single, Uzi, from her upcoming debut EP, Taking No Prisoners, was released in September 2013, to immediate acclaim. The Houston influenced, heavy bass, R&B hit impressed multiple major music sites and landed her on Allhiphop.com and Jay-Zs Life + Times blog. Her musical philosophy is do you and she does it, with an artistic approach paralleled by no other mainstream female R&B singer. The dichotomy between her sexy vocals and her aggressive content, with her in-your-face delivery, leaves listeners captivated. Her EP, Taking No Prisoners, is scheduled for release, this fall.
