NEWS RELEASE
WEBER BROTHERS PRODUCTIONS
*************************
Contemporary folk-soul musician Lance Isaacs hails from Six Nations Reserve, southwest of Hamilton, but now calls Peterborough home.

Quickly jumping in and immersing himself in the thriving Peterborough music scene upon arrival, he has become recognized and revered for his sultry vocals and soulful, melodic compositions, along with an instantly captivating live show.

Making himself a fixture at Peterborough’s Legendary Red Dog open stage, he soon captured the ears of seasoned international touring artists The Weber Brothers.

“Lance knocked me out instantly. With the first note he sang, I was all in. I straight away thought to myself….people need to hear this voice,” recalls Weber Brothers’ bassist and vocalist Ryan Weber.

Coincidentally The Weber Brothers were at that time launching a new venture branded “Weber Brothers Productions” with the aim of, among other things, helping others to break into the music industry.

“Seemed like one of those times when the stars line up….” Weber adds, “He (Isaacs) is going to do some big things….and it’s gonna be a lot of fun helping him get there.”

Ryan Weber credits the help of others for allowing he and his brother Sam to accomplish all they have as musicians.

It all stems back to the day they arrived on Ronnie Hawkins’ doorstep on Stoney Lake 20 years ago to learn from the rock-a-billy master himself. Since then, the brothers from Maryland have quietly absorbed lessons learned while aligning with some of the music industry’s greatest talents to develop their own style and sound that keeps fans coming back for more.

And now it’s time to give back.

“Without that help that we’ve gotten over the years, we wouldn’t be where we are now,” says Sam. “Our first album was funded by friends and the community supported us and that’s what we’re hoping to pass on.”

Filmmakers bring the Webers Brothers story to the screen
The brothers have started Weber Brothers Productions, a new venture developed to help others break into the music industry. They are ready to pass along the wealth of knowledge they’ve amassed over the years.

“Weber Brothers Productions is an extension of what we’ve already been doing,” says Ryan, adding he and Sam want to share what they’ve learned with up and coming musicians.

On this day, inside James McKenty’s In Record Time recording studio in Peterborough, Sam and Ryan are sitting back listening intently as Lance Isaacs records a song.

Isaacs is new on the music scene. Although the 28-year-old has only been performing for just over two years, his vocal talent is something that caught Ryan’s ear.

Like many great musicians before him, Isaacs landed in Peterborough in his early 20s after travelling around Canada. He was a musician, but never played publicly until he signed up for open mic events at the Historic Red Dog Tavern. He knew that playing in front of a crowd was something he wanted to do.

“I was too nervous to introduce myself, so I thought the least I could do was show up at music events and see what was going on and see who was putting out what,” says Isaacs.

It was at one of these open mics when Ryan took notice. He says Isaacs' vocals left him in awe.

Now, Isaacs is working closely with Weber Brothers Productions to help record his debut album. He says with the Webers in his corner, he feels good things will happen, although he’s aware of the challenges ahead.

“The music industry is a fickle mistress, it’s always been that way,” says Isaacs.

Yet, Ryan and Sam pledge to do what they can to help Isaacs break into the scene.

Through their new company, the Webers can help with music production, session/studio work, arrangements, songwriting, instrumentation, private lessons and consultation.

“Case by case, it will be a different scenario. We’re willing to work with whatever they need. To me, it’s about sharing what we’ve learned and helping people get there,” says Ryan. - My Kawartha
