Discography

With the premier of his self-titled album just around the corner, and his long awaited EP with hit single "Time". Lance wants to express great music and a way of life that speaks to the people of the world. The album sets a folk and authentic soul ambiance to the listeners ears. He demonstrates this in his instrumentation. As some of his songs have fluttering jazz clarinet and sax licks or soothing fiddle lines and others speak simply with a guitar and voice.

Bio

Growing up in Pineville, Louisiana, Lance was influenced by the soul music of James Brown and Michael Jackson, but much like Creole music, his influences became a mix of multiple genres ranging from rock to country, art music, Jazz and anything that sounded good. He has studied and performed clarinet and double bass for over 10 years, citing influences such as Charles Mingus and Grover Washington. Lance is a member of the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he is in his final year of study in music theory/composition and audio production.

As a singer/songwriter, Lance is influenced heavily by folk and soul music like Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and Bill withers, and crafts his songs using piano, guitar and fiddle as instrumental foundation. He has performed his original music across the US over the past several years, and has collaborated with others in composing music for contemporary dance and theater productions. Lance Boston was the featured clarinetist and saxist on the Cedric Watson and Bijou Creole album, Soleil est Leve
