Authentic original & classic American southern roots & blues. This "folk/blues power duo" from the USA are full of fun, energy and great music!

Biography

Born in, and growing up around, Nashville, Tennessee, USA, somewhere between the cotton fields and the speak-easy's, music was everywhere around Lance. Playing ukulele and piano practically from birth, he got his own guitar at age 13. Over the years Lance developed his own style and techniques, weaving the stories of his life with his guitars singing along in unison.
After over 15 years on the road in 29 countries living and playing music with his partner Donna Rae. (Chris Rea placed the Lance & Donna CD "Long Gone" at #2 in his Rolling Stone Top 10 CD picks in 2005!) The Lance Harrison Band was the only natural progression! Quick on the heels of the successful Fall 2005 CD release from Lance & Donna "The Sun Will Shine", the Spring 2006 debut CD from the Lance Harrison Band "No Rest For The Wicked" is receiving rave reviews. Totaling 26 original compositions, the two CD's reflect the amazing diversity of this talented singer/songwriter.

Lyrics

Long Gone

Written By: Lance Harrison

I’ve been gone from my home so long,
People there don’t even know my name.
I’ve been gone from my home so long,
People there don’t even know my name.
I didn’t mean to leave ‘em all go behind,
But I left ‘em, just the same.

I’ve been takin’ to the highways,
I’ve been ridin’ on the rails.
I’ve been takin’ to the highways,
I’ve been ridin’ on the rails.
I seen a little bit of freedom,
Lord knows, I know some prison cells.

Don’t really know
if I’ll find what I’m lookin’ for.
I said, I don’t really know
if I’ll find what I’m lookin’ for.
I know I had a little taste of it once,
got to have some more!

But …

The Sun Will Shine

Written By: Lance Harrison

Listen to me baby,
An’ hear me when I say,
Bad luck and trouble,
Ain’t here to stay.
Good times are comin’,
They’re right on down the line,
Dark clouds will clear,
An’ the sun … will … shine.

It’s cold, and gray, and rainy,
An’ spring seems far away,
Often hard to bear, I know,
But warm will come someday.
Fields will fill with plenty,
The fish will tug my line.
Dark skies will clear,
An’ the sun … will … shine.

Don’t you worry Honey,
Baby, please don’t cry.
It’s all gonna get better,
In the by and by.
Every thing,
Is goin’ to be fine,
Dark skies will clear,
And the sun … will … shine.

Bad Luck

Written By: Lance Harrison

Found a nickle on the sidewalk
Through the hole in my shoe
Then I lost it down the drain
Oh, what’s a man to do?

Chorus:
Bad luck, can’t seem to get ahead
Keep a goin’ like this
I’m goin’ t’ wind up dead

Used to have a job
At the lumber yard
Used to pay my rent
Before times got hard

Chorus:

What I had, all went away
What was left?
Just rot and decay

Chorus:

Earned a little bit of cash
To buy a bottle of wine
Slipped the bag and broke
Just as I’s feelin’ fine!

Chorus:

Sister Bessie’s winkin’
Don’t mean me no good
Her man’s the meanest killer
In this neighborhood

Chorus:

Mojo in my pocket
Dice begin to sing
In three quick rolls
I lost everything
