Bio

Imagine a bus blowing past you on the interstate - the wheels turning so fast that the road can hardly keep up. Now imagine inside this bus is a man with a chip on his shoulder – a grudge. Not a grudge that he holds with the world, but with himself. What is this man trying to prove? Nothing, actually. Instead, he has such a burning passion to fill the hearts of the masses and inspire them with his offerings that he simply can't slow down.

That man is Lance Jones.

Lance recalls, “as a young man, the greatest gift I ever received was the gift of music”. Given to him by his father, a guitarist, and his mother, a singer, it allowed him the chance to communicate and express himself in ways that came all too easy. Shortly after learning to play and sing, he tried his hand at writing. It turned out to be the perfect trio. He has penned countless songs in order to express the triumphs, failures and lessons of life he aspires to share with others. With songs such as "Heart Beat Next to Mine" - a heartfelt musical embrace from an apologetic loved one, to the autobiographical "One Life" that gives an insightful glimpse into what drives him , it's easy to see why he says "I was born to do this - I simply can't do anything else".

Pulling from a variety of influences including Journey, Creed, U2 and even Travis Tritt, Jones has effectively molded his music to stand out from the crowd by use of catchy and purposeful melodies , while not abandoning deep, introspective lyrics and themes. Commenting on his influences, Lance says "I have always appreciated how Journey was able to grab you with a melody. Steve Perry's voice is haunting yet welcoming. Of course, being from the South, I was raised on Travis Tritt. He makes every word count - you won't find a song where he doesn't sing his heart out. Creed was one of the first bands I ever heard that could take a harder, edgier song and deliver it in a way that was easy for the masses to digest - while maintaining their identity. And U2? Well, they're U2 - the greatest band ever."

Currently in the studio recording his debut album, Lance is steadily becoming a well-received and well-known presence in his new hometown of Nashville. In a day when few things are certain, one thing is a sure bet - there is no slowing down Lance Jones.
