"Dalai Lama Endorses Film"

"I am always impressed when, in addition to words of support, people actually undergo some physical hardship to further the cause of peace. Undertaking to climb Mount Everest under any circumstances takes great courage. The Everest Peace Project’s film Everest: A Climb for Peace is a tremendous achievement from several points of view. Not only does it document a spectacular climb of the world’s tallest mountain, but it also shows how the project brought together people from different faiths and cultures, who worked successfully as a team to accomplish their goal. It reinforces my strong belief that if we adopt the right approach and make a determined effort, cooperation, trust and understanding can always be established for a true and worthy cause."

"Best Everest Film Ever"

"The Best Everest film we have seen...Along with the drama of an Everest climb - Everest: A Climb for Peace is an uncommonly intense climbing story - where the audience is faced with the very basics of humanity all at once: conflict, wars, choices, strange bed-fellows, fear, triumph and unanswered questions."

"Climb Everest for Peace"

"It’s an extraordinary thing to see a man’s vision become reality. Lance Trumbull’s dream of promoting peace through a multicultural quest to the summit of Mount Everest is revealed in the film Everest: A Climb for Peace...The movie gives hope that the spirit of cooperation and brotherhood that blossomed when the group faced the daunting challenge of climbing Mount Everest can be achieved on a larger scale...." - The Asian Reporter

"Everest: A Climb for Peace"

"The message is not about the climbers, it is not about political issues and condemnation, It’s not even about Everest. It is about something much bigger that encompasses everything we have seen, heard, or felt about some of the cruelest places in the world. It is about surviving. It is about thriving. It is about Peace..

Lance Trumbull, who has directed this amazing film, was able to capture something that I don’t think I have ever seen in a documentary of this type before. Pure Emotion from the opening scene in Jerusalem to the closing credits. The ideas are there, the timing is relevant, and the message is clear and well represented. Everest: A Climb for Peace is a monster...If you are an Everest enthusiast and want to watch one film that can capture the majestic mountain in all it’s splendor, if you are into ideas that could help change the world, if you feel the need to understand why someone would risk life and limb for the chance at one summit, WATCH THIS MOVIE! It will not only blow you away, but leave you gasping for air." - The Adventurist

Bio

Biography of Lance Trumbull - Diversity / Teamwork Speaker:
In 2002 Lance sold everything he possessed: his business, his car, his personal items and moved to Nepal with two duffel bags of climbing and trekking gear to travel around the Himalayas and lead a more deep and meaningful life. This radical change led Lance to create The Everest Peace Project – a peace organization whose mission is to inspire and promote peace and a Climb for Peace expedition of Mt. Everest.

Lance was the expedition leader for The Everest Peace Project's history-making Everest peace climb. He helped successfully lead 10 people to the summit of Everest. Lance directed and produced "Everest" and also helped film this documentary in seven different countries; he also appears as an important character on screen.

Lance is an avid explorer who has traveled all over the world in the search for adventure. He went to school at UC Berkeley, where he studied religion under world famous scholar Huston Smith. Being a Buddhist he has actively tried to lead a compassionate and mindful life. His passion has been mountain climbing and exploring -he has spent many months trekking and climbing throughout mountains in Nepal, Tibet, China, Mongolia, Russia, and India.

In July 2005, he successfully led the Kilimanjaro Climb for Peace team to the roof of Africa - and on May 18th, 2006 his Everest Climb for Peace summited 10 climbers.

Lance currently lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife Tikky and his newborn son, Kaden. He is now working on a book about his life, the Climb for Peace expedition, and his film.
