Landlocked

Formed in the summer of 2009, four friends who had played in several other bands together wanted to play some fun hardcore, influenced by bands such as Cursed and Converge, but Landlocked wanted to try to change the heavy punk hardcore scene. The scene was full of bands singing about the world letting them down or just general pessimism. Landlocked decided other sub-genres of punk and hardcore had positive bands, so why not heavy punk hardcore.

They recorded and released their digital demo in the Fall of '09 and it was widely received. They played their first show in November on '09 in their hometown of Columbia, Missouri and after that their was no stopping them. They booked their first tour around the Midwest. The tour was a great success and they came back ready to take this band more seriously. They began writing their first EP while still playing shows in and around Missouri. In May of 2010 they self released their first EP, From A New Perspective, and in that same month they left the States for their first European tour. The Europe tour was with Bays and All We Have and it lasted 3 weeks spanning from UK, Belgium, Germany, France and Poland. They were well received and made lots of friends. Upon returning to the States, they set up their second US tour with the band Change Today. That winter they started writing again for their split tape with the band Bays, who they shared the road with in Europe. Also during that winter they went on their third US tour down to Florida to play with their friends Centuries. Upon returning they recorded and released the split tape in Feburary of 2011 via Bezerker Records. They spent time after this working on their newest EP and playing more shows in Missouri.

Currently, the band has recorded their much anticipated second EP entitled Erudition. It has a UK release planned for August via Pinky Swear Records, and the band is still in search of an American label to put it on vinyl.
