Landon Austin

Landon Austin

A perfect harmony of the obvious and the subtle. Taking bits of bluesy ache, 70s folk rock tradition, and Americana Pop, he creates a lush composite that pushes ahead with a stylistic mix that's too elusive for simple descriptions, generating a sound all his own.

Landon Austin (born August 8, 1988) is an American guitarist and singer-songwriter, originally from Dallas, Texas. Starting from a young age Austin presented a desire and passion for music. He received his first guitar from his parents at the age of nine and hasn’t put it down since. As a junior in high school, Austin’s talent was recognized in his home state when he won “Texas 10 Under 20” contest (a contest celebrating the most talented musicians under the age of 20).
In October of 2007 Austin became a top ten finalist in the National Doritos Crash the Super Bowl Competition. In January 2008 Austin was voted one of three finalists for the nationwide Doritos competition by online fans. Austin was then flown to L.A. to film a music video for his original song "Waitin.'” After which, Austin along with two other finalists from the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl competition were flown to Phoenix for the Super Bowl. Austin performed at the Saturday Night Super Bowl block party and an excerpt of his performance was aired during the Super Bowl XLII game. Austin's song "Waitin'" was then released as a single on iTunes through Interscope Records. On the back of his highly acclaimed single and international sales presently unsigned, Austin is set to release his debut album entitled Part One in late October 2009.
