Up and coming mainstream country artist Landon Shill brings out a new sound and style influencing from some of the greats such as Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Jr., Merle Haggard, Eric Clapton and Bruce Springsteen.

Biography

. Landon Shill might not be a star yet but, unmistakably, he’s a singer, a performer, and a seasoned musical talent at a young age, finding ways to make his dream into a career on his own terms. With a growing string of well-received gigs throughout the American southwest (most of them in his home state of Arizona with a growing reach into New Mexico, Texas, and elsewhere), Shill is a bit off of the beaten Nashville path but came by his affection for country music honestly.

By the time he formed his first band at age 24, Shill already had over seven years of performing under his belt, mostly sitting in with bands and acoustic acts as a sideman and honing his chops as a guitarist before he took the opportunity to write and sing his own songs and run with it. Soon he’d begin to find his voice, reflecting the influence of heroes ranging from Waylon Jennings to George Strait to Bruce Springsteen in his live shows (particularly memorable gigs included opening for stars as diverse as Top 40 country star Luke Bryan and blues-rocker George Thorogood) and his debut project, the 2009 independent release Start A Fire.

Blending mainstream-country polish with a touch of alt-country grit and rock & roll energy, Landon Shill’s immediate future looks bright; a second album titled I’m Right Here is scheduled for release in 2011, and he and his band are booked well into the year with everything from intimate small-venue shows to high-profile opening acts and some of the region’s biggest dancehalls. Learning as he goes but in confident command of his talents, Shill is poised for a breakthrough.
