Lanky is a Houston,TX based singer songwriter. The New Jersey native adopted the moniker after the release of his first cd, INNER ONWRITER, put him on the road performing hundreds of solo acoustic shows to promote it. Though he never intended to be a solo troubadour-style artist, he's made quite a mark as the one man show. Moving from introspective, heart on sleeve ballads to infectious, hook-filled rockers effortlessly. His road worn Martin guitar, like an orchestra, fills the room as his instantly likable voice flirts with falsetto. Quite often, light-hearted stage banter about his very heart heavy songs is delivered with a devilish grin. A lanky performance has most definitely become one part heartbreak and one part celebration.

By spending much of each year on the road, Lanky has developed a devoted national following. His songs have received airplay on radio stations throughout the country and his songwriting has been praised by publications such as Performing Songwriter, The Big Takeover, Houston Press, The Aquarian Weekly and Rockpile Magazine.

Lanky was named 2005 Unsigned Male Artist of the Year by Unsigned magazine.

Odd Hour Work Week , his newest release, landed in the Top 200 FMQB album airplay chart and PERFORMING SONGWRITER Magazine writes: "Lanky's music is reminiscent of John Mayer and Sting with a dose of Jeff Buckley, but has an irresistible innocence and longing distinctly Lankys own."

Lanky is currently hard at work on his next release. He will be touring the U.S. throughout the fall of 2007.

Songs from the Odd Hour Work Week release were played on over 75 AAA radio stations.

Airplay on XM Satellite Radio Channel 45 'XM Cafe' and Sirrius Satelite Radio.

(You Can't Stop) Progress

Written By: Lanky

I WALK THESE STREETS THAT WE CALL A NEIGHBORHOOD
BUT OUR DOORS ARE LOCKED SO WE’RE NEVER UNDERSTOOD
AND I’VE SEEN THE THINGS YOU’VE DROPPED
JUST TO CLING TO THE END OF YOUR ROPE
AND I WONDER WHAT WE GOT FROM THE WELL OF HOPE

I’VE BEEN WAITING ALL MY LIFE
FOR A MAN TO SHOW HIS FACE
AND THE WORDS THAT I HAVE SPOKE ARE LOSING THEIR MEANING NOW
LOSING THEIR MEANING

WHEN WE CRIED TO OUR MOTHERS OUR MOTHERS ALWAYS KNEW
THEY’D MAKE IT RIGHT FOR THE MOMENT BUT THEY KNEW WHAT WAS TRUE
ALL IS FAIR IN LOVE AND WAR NOTHING IS FAIR IN THE WORLD TODAY
AND IF YOU GET WHAT’S YOURS THEN YOU’LL GET WHAT YOU DESERVE

I’VE BEEN WAITING ALL MY LIFE
FOR A MAN TO SHOW HIS FACE
AND THE WORDS THAT I HAVE SPOKE ARE LOSING THEIR MEANING NOW
LOSING THEIR MEANING
THERE’S A PROMISE I MADE TO MYSELF
I’LL STAND AND DELIVER
AND THE TRUTH BETTER FIND SOME HELP
CAUSE IT’S LOSING IT’S MEANING NOW
LOSING IT’S MEANING

I’VE BEEN WAITING ALL MY LIFE
FOR A MAN TO SHOW HIS FACE
AND THE WORDS THAT I HAVE SPOKE ARE LOSING THEIR MEANING NOW
LOSING THEIR MEANING
THIS PROMISE I MADE TO MYSELF
I’LL STAND AND DELIVER
AND THE TRUTH BETTER FIND SOME HELP
CAUSE IT’S LOSING IT’S MEANING NOW
LOSING IT’S MEANING
AND I’M LOST IN THE REASON

HE IS LOVE, HE IS LOVE
HERE AND NOW, HERE AND NOW

Lovesick

Written By: Lanky

So this is the real deal
It’s the way that I feel
And it’s the real deal
I’m not fooling around
Yeah the real deal
So put your feet on my ground
And don't hide, don’t hide

Cause today, is our day
I won't let it slip away
I have trusted and I have been betrayed
But I'm not so lost that I can't be saved

Love, come quick
I'm lovesick

So you want the real deal
With your feet on the ground
You want the real deal
You say you were lost but now you’re found
And you feel that it’s coming around
You don’t hide, you don’t hide oh no

Today is the day
I get to hear you say
How you have trusted just to be betrayed
But you’re not so lost that you can't be saved

Love, come quick
I'm lovesick

Falling Hard For The Girl

Written By: Lanky

Falling Hard for the Girl
You make it up, then you break it all apart
You let the pieces fall and then you sweep it all up
Pick yourself up, shake off the dirt
You're inside out so just change your shirt

Inside your head there's a riot
and it's hard now to keep the mind quiet
when you're falling hard for a girl, when you're falling so hard

Well you never get enough because you talk too much
I hear you say to yourself "will I ever get up?" because I'm falling
You were over and out, you say you're underground
You say you're waiting for something to come around
But you'll never see it coming when

Inside you're head there's a riot
And it's hard now to keep the mind quiet
when you're falling hard for the girl
Falling so hard for a girl

Crashing The Car Is Learning To Drive

Written By: Lanky

It’s back to the scene of the crime, back to hear it one more time
How there’s nobody else, how there’s nobody else
It doesn’t matter how strong you are
Someone somewhere will take you down
Maybe you’re all that I have Maybe you’re all that I have
to lose, to give You’re all I have to lose

I’ll get the truth, even when I’m handed lies
Cause crashing the car is learning to drive

We secretly want the ones we despise
To have them again without all the lies
But you know it can’t be so
We go back to the scene of the crime, back to hear it one more time
Baby your all that I have to lose

I’ll get the truth, even when I’m handed lies
Cause crashing the car is learning to drive
Give me the truth, even when you’re handed lies
Crashing this car is learning to drive

Go on say it again, say it again like you mean it
Go on say it again, say it again like you mean it

I’ll get the truth, even when I’m handed lies
Cause crashing the car is learning to drive
Give me the truth, even when you’re handed lies
Crashing this car is learning to drive
