“Hands In Motion Band”
A sextet created and directed by pianist Lannie Battistini, where he performs most of his original repertoire. “Straight Ahead” , “Afro Cuban” , “Soft”, R&B, Bohemian & Caribbean Jazz, to mention a few. Latin Jazz standards such as “Maiden Voyage” by Herbie Hancok, “Spain” by Chick Corea, Bésame Mucho by Consuelo Velázquez, “Morning” by Tito Puente and “Yesterdays” by Jerome Kern, also, original compositions such as: “Never Without You”, “Remembrance”, Mazacote, “Hyperactive”, Gozando, Rumbeando, “Neysa’s Way, “New Love”, “Like A Dream”, “Lannie’s Samba” y “Just You & I” are included during each live performance.
Various well known local Latin Jazz talents are featured in the band: Cuban saxophonist Manuel Pelayo, José “Junior” Alvarado at the bass, Charlie Sierra at the Timbales and minor percussion, Rafael Merino at the drums and well known Latin Jazz artist, Paoli Mejía at the congas.
Hands In Motion Band has featured Lannie Battistini alongside with internationally known Jazz artist such as: Dave Valentin, Rie Akagi, Humberto Ramirez, Luis “Perico” Ortiz, Papo Vazquez, Giovanni Hidalgo, Paoli Mejias and Anthony Carrillo, as well as known Pop artists such as,
Luis Fonsi, Olga Tañon, Ednita Nazario, Julio Iglesias and José Luis Rodríguez, “El Puma”.
The band is self contained, therefore, it includes its own sound system and audio engineer. Performances are two hour long and dress code is always appropriate for any event.
